    Wow...just... wow! Totally amazing! I've only seen that kind of artwork in a book once before. I can't imagine how long it took that guy to do that.

    It took him a year and a half. A lot of people are trying get the Tolkien estate to allow for a published version for print to be sold.

    Honestly I can't think why they wouldn't want to put such a fantastic work into print. If he could be convinced to a Hobbit book next I'm sure they'd jump at the chance with the new films out over the next few years.

    Oh! WANT!!!! I'd totally buy one: my copy of the Silmarillion is less than stellar at the moment :(

    He plans to re-do the cover and binding nicely when he has the money. embossing it and adding the gold leaf and knot work would make it even more ineradicable.

    Awesome! I love illuminated manuscripts generally, and that looks fantastic. I bet it'll be expensive though.
