Hey, I was thinking on this and so far I only thought of two. Perrin should be played by Tom Welling and Clive Owen should be Lan.

    Perrin - Heath Ledger
Mat - Jake Gylenhaal (excuse the spelling)
Rand - Jared someone (was Dean in Gilmore Girls)
    Lan - Steven Segal
    Moiraine - Helena Bonham Carter
    Nynaeve - Winona Ryder
    Egwene - Keira Knightly
    Elayne - Kirsten Dunst
    Aviendha - Tyra Banks
    lanfear - Angelina Jolie

Just a few ideas. No, I don't daydream about this at all *whistles*

think Heath Ledger with the big gruffly beard. That's where my "casting" comes from.

well, I do not have much to sugest on this subject, but when I do think of it, for some reason I always think of Diana Kitton as Verin, Antony Hopkins as Dobraine, Antonio Banderas as Julin, Vitto Morgenstern for Eamon Valda and Sean Konnery for Tom (this last one, light only knows where it came from).

Sean Connery for Tom is an EXCELLENT suggestion. I can totally see that. Diane Keaton for Verin would work well too.

How would everybody feel about Judy Dench for Cadsuane?

Ok, Lan should be either Viggo Mortensen, Hugh Jackman, or Vin Diesel. All of them are really tough lookin'. An Thom should be Ian McKellan. Gareth Bryne should be Liam Neeson. Oh and Keeanu Reeves should be Rahvin!! yeh.

Vigo and hugh are both too handsome and too short. Lan is not a handsome man, wasn't since he was twenty five, if u do not belive me, it is clear as day written in "New spring"

I am sticking with my vote of Steven Segal for Lan. He's built like a brick s**thouse, has the gray temples and the chiselled features. No one could pull off "Lan" like he could.

I don't know. Clive Owen I think could pull it off. He was in King Arthur 2004 and i was thinking he was really emotionless. That is kinda good in Lan's case. And I think Scarlett Johanson should be Elaine.

I second that vote, also I think that Perrin should be played by Heath Ledger, and Mat by ermm someone kind of sneaky yet a ladies-man..hmm I wonder who?

You must not have seen Segal in the last 10yrs. He is one fat s.o.b. now, plus he's an idiot. IMO the world would be a better place if he never landed another acting role. And Heath Ledger as Perrin!? You need someone stocky and who atleast looks strong, not someone who looks effeminate. Sorry for the bashing but I was disgusted with these suggestions. And btw, Edward Norton for Mat?

You don't have to share in my opinions, but I will ask you to be polite. There is no need for "bashing". You can disagree without being rude. Considering you called yourself on it and apologized in your post, you know you were being so.

I don't think Heath Ledger looks feminine - he played a gay man in a movie, and suddenly he's a pansy. I've seen pleny of very well built pictures of Heath with his scruffy beard, and Perrin is who I first thought of.

As for Steven Segal as Lan, I chose him because Lan is described as cold, with chiselled features, graying temples and well built. When I think of him, I think of Steven Segal. Lan is not a good looking guy, and neither is Steven Segal.

I'll remind you also, this thread is all built on pure conjecture. It's not a debate, it's a discussion based on a hypothetical situation. It's for people's opinions, and I am entitled to mine as you are to yours. It's based on envisioning the characters, and which actors do YOU *think* would most closely fit the bill - not an actor-flaming session. If you like, we can go start a thread in general for saying what actors we hate, etc.

I do have to say though, your suggestion of Ed Norton for Mat is a pretty good one. I could definitely see that, he's got that easy-smile.
