Greetings all, new to TFF. I am currently working on leather armour for my female Amazon/Warrior persona for Renaissance Faires and was wondering if anyone had any links/ideas on how to embellish it. I am leaning towards Celtic knots with a central dragon motif. I want to use metallic ceramic paints and leather dyes, but I am not skilled on these types of mediums. Any useful help would be appreciated. I did do a search here for female leather/fantasy armour and nothing came up.

Daryia the Fierce (I do love that name!),
Saw your post here about the type of armor you would like to make. Have you considered doing appliques? Make your base armor to fit as needed. Then trace out your Celtic knot patterns on light leather, say 2 - 3 oz. Cut out these patterns then glue/rivet/attach them to the other "base" piece. This would give you the same look seen in lots of the LOTR armor (however in the LOTR case they made the base armor out of metal.) This way you could have the base one color and the appliques a contrasting color for a very striking effect!

I found a link to this site in another thread and they have a section armor for women. I thought you might be interested.

Yeah, how about this design? As far as embellishments go, you might have to draw a dragon on your belly with pink lipstick or something like that! LOL! :D

I found that pretty funny too. The feathers on the helmet really tie the whole thing together. The lopsided chest piece is nice too. There might be something worthwhile though.

Well folks, speaking from first hand experience (don't go any farther with that thought!) I can tell you a woman in the proverbial brass brassier coming at you across the battle field, or for that matter anywhere else, is a most intimidating sight!

Treading so very close to the edge of the pit of no return, let me just offer that the mass was substantial!

There used to be a picture in these forums of armor almost exactly like you describe... I thinkt hey got rid of the picture system though. I'll see if I can find it.
