Very true... I read this book called "Watership Down" but I can't remember who it was by... its about rabbits and I still saw some Tolkien inspired work in there

Actually, many stories go by the "epic" format (The Hero of a Thousand Faces shows how all these epics are similar) which trace way back into history. I think the first was Babylonian... or some other early civilization.

I saw a trailer for the third one and a ring wraiths in it!!! how typical.

Rowling's a right a b*#&h in real life you know!, right she's got loads of cash and as a present she gave her dad a first addition of her book, he is poor and he was finding trouble to keep his family going, stupid cow of a daughter won't give lend him any money, so he had to sell her crappy book, when she found out she flipped her top and won't speak to him anymore!, what an A-grade freaking B**&H!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Dt, but I hear that in the other one there is this giant snake or something, that if it looks you in the eyes, it can paralyze or kill you right? HELLOOOO.... anybody ever hear of Glaurung in the silmarillion which was written before JK rowling was born, ya Glaurung, he could do the same thing only he was Tolkien!!!

What the hell is wrong with Harry Potter???

It's not a kids movie... What kind of a silly talk is this??

Anyone can enjoy it. It's just as much as fantasy as Tolkien.

And everyone should be calm... Tolkien has copied a lot too.

I think the serpent in the second HP was the basilisk (basilisk - an imaginary animal like a snake in ancient stories, supposed to be able to kill people by looking at them), Rowling just used that myth like she used the mythological creatures like centaurs, for example.

I am far too old for HP however I agree with Lrgolas about JK Rowling - she could curdle milk by looking at it! It is not attractive to me at all. If lots of people buy your work and you make millions from it its a little sad to not respect that.
