Any tips? Anyone telling me its not a chest plate at all? Anything?
I'm new to all of this.
It isn't a plate, seems more like a jerkin. Probably 4oz leather at the most. I had a nice picture page for it bookmarked but I can't find it now.
I posted the pattern a little while ago in this thread if your interested.
Thanks. I'll give it a go sometime
I'd be interested in seeing it when your done.
me too !
No pressure or anything
Does anybody have a good pattern for making Faramir's leather chest plate/jerkin? I followed Calarustithil's link but the page isn't there any more. I really want to make this, can anybody help me out with patterns? And advice for tooling the silver tree?
I took the cheap way out and got my mom to draw in metallic sharpie the white tree...
Lol, Alex, one day we should make armor like that. Where do you get leather from?
I really took the cheap way out and used vinyl
you could go to tandyleather.com
Thanks Alex, Ill see into that.
for the price, I think that their stuff is pretty nice...
A great site to find design information is LOTR Costume Research Home.
Here's a direct link to their Faramir's Ranger Garb page: Ranger Garb You can find a template/stencil for the tree here, too.
that is where my mother got the pattern for the white tree.
