    Macro fans will like this!
You know sometimes you turn over a rock and there are those little white specks, little more than a few millimeters in length? And you know sometimes if you watch them you can see that they do indeed move - -well:

    Love the fox shots!

Hey, I've always sort of wondered; how do you take pictures -that good pictures- of bugs? Don't they just fly away?

Often :( I've spent some days chasing butterflies from flower to flower (those little "cabbage whites" are the worst for not stopping for more than second before they are off again). Idealy though you want to shoot during the early part of the day or just after a rainstorm - when the insects are cooled and thus (becaues they are cold blooded) sluggish. It makes them far more likley to simply sit there and ignore you. Other methods include waiting by a popular flower for an insect to come alone - using bait like rotting fruit, honey or sugar water and lifting up logs and rocks (though a lot of those sorts go mad till they get back undersomething again

Rather like this chap who did not waste a second trying to hide again

I gather you have a whole lot of patience then...

I love how all the legs are so... clear, and small!

I rather think its more like ;) I gave up with the tripod the other day - darn slow fiddly thing it was! ;)

But yes patience has to appear at some point as well as accepting that sometimes the day will not go so well (esp if it rains on you)

Sorry I don't take those kind of pics ----

besides I'd need an even stronger lens to get those picks of Alex (as well as someone else to do the finding and the shooting.....)
    and shipping to Ozland...
