    Books

    Lord of the Rings 5x
    The Hobbit 2x
    Silmarillion 1x

    Films in theatre

    FOTR 1x
    TTT 11x
    ROTK 27x

To explain that over-excessive theatre count, a friend and I were having a competition. He'd never seen FOTR at the theatre, so I was 1-0 up. He saw TTT 12 times, so then it was 1-1. I totally blitzed him at ROTK, so I won 2-1 :D

Multiple times. I've watched the movies maybe 8 times by now, but as for the books... I've read LotR at least 20 times, the Hobbit only 5, the Sil around 15x (only straight-through, though... don't ask about how often I read fragments.) I've read the first five books of HoME maybe twice each, and I've read Unfinished Tales more often. Which reminds me... I should start my reread of LotR sometime soon. Been too busy with ASoIaF lately. :D

I'm still on my third. I can't really take too much Tolkien and I have to be in the right mood for him.

    Hobbit three times

    Silmarrillion once.

    Films cinema versions three times

    Extended editions twice.

LOTR entire book trilogy: I'm on my third go.
LOTR entire movie trilogy: FOTR 3 times, TT 3 times, and I just finished watching ROTK for the 4th time.

    I'm still far from done!

Hobbit twice, I've read the trilogy 3 times, and I've seen the FOTR about 30ish times, and 15 times for both TTT and ROTK. Gotta love the Special Extended DVD Editions.

    :p Confession time...

I've read the LOTR trilogy once... mostly. (Read all the way to the middle of ROTK and decided I'd had enough. Been years since I tried though.) Never read the hobbit.

Seen the trillogy once, max twice.

You are seriously a fantasy fiend... and I must say you have my admiration. I don't think I've read ANYTHING that many times.

I've got a bigger confession to make! I just read the trilogy this year! I had read The Hobbit a long time ago, but could never get past the first few chapters of Fellowship. I have watched the movies too many times to count. My family is sick of me because every time I have a sick day, I curl up with a cup of tea and "go to Middle Earth". I don't usually read a novel more than once though, but who knows?

I've read the book for four times now, two times in English and one time in my own language (Dutch). Although the translation is pretty good, I prefer the original version. Other books I've read from Tolkien are the Hobbit and Children of Hurin. I still want to buy the Silmarillion.
The movies I've seen three or four times.

I wonder why everybody keeps calling LOTR a trilogy, while it's in fact one book.

That's funny! That's pretty much what I had done, when I was younger I just couldn't get my head around it! Though I loved The Hobbit! But now I love all things Tolkien! The movies I have watched countless times and catch myself even watching it when it comes on TV but you can't beat the extended versions!
