Well, I'm not saying Anakin's downfall was planned from birth. I can only presume the Force changed the purpose of the Chosen One, when he saw in what kind of environment. Thing is what I questioned a lot is. Was the Chosen One meant to become a Jedi?
    'And in times of Despair.
    A Saviour will come.
    Who shall be known
as the Son of the Suns'

That is the propechy. Does it say anything about him being a Jedi? No, the Jedi only presume so, because it is a Jedi Prophecy. Which shows ignorance and arrogance. Again that's the proof which shows how similar the Sith and the Jedi are. Their arrogance was the Jedi's downfall. Even Yoda saw that they were becoming more flawed. And there was the corruption of the senate, which became larger and larger. The Republic had to change, dramatically and the only way was through revolution which Vader started. Everything had to be rebuilt. So that is my clue that it was meant to be.

I think in actuality, if you read Lucas' original notes concerning the originals, even before the basic character structures were finalized, the idea of a 'fallen angel being redeemed' was always there. So I think in actuality, the prophecy indeed was implying that there had to be 'a fall', just like the fall of man etc So Anakin was always going to fall to the Dark Side, and through this, and the influence of his children, he would be redeemed and fulfill the prophecy by killing the Emperor. Only in that position would he have been able to turn back to the light truly. He was confident that he could defeat Palpatine on his own in Episode III, whereas we'll never know about that for sure. In the Star Wars universe, nothing happens by accident, there is the Will of the Force. Anakin's rising through the ranks, falling for Padmé and fathering children then becoming Lord Vader, it was the way things were meant to go, the only way to rid the galaxy of Sith forever. Of course I'm talking about actual Star Wars here, not Expanded Universe mince...

Yes I remember that of Lucas speaking about a fallen angel, cause yes the Force and many other things in SW are based on religious aspects in our own world. It is almost like the redemption of Satan, or some even said the redemption of Christ. (not that he actually killed hundreds of Jedi lol) But it was a message that this like any other religion is flawed. I don't want to get into a real religious debate here. Might get too heated, but yes. the Prophecy was there from the beginning, so we know of Anakin's coming. But how it turned out, wasn't probably how the Force predicted it, I think. That is debatable, cause as Padmé said there's no such thing as coincidences, said by Qui-Gon in Episode I

OK, I'm going to withdraw everything I've said on the matter because that's one little detail that I neglected to account for, that we're not talking about the same universe. Oh well!

A-Ha. I love it when I get to deligate responsibility for my mistakes to the people who helped me make them!! Anakin, you obviously mindless twit, your question is, is there a hell in the Star Wars GALAXY, not universe. I believe that's a mistake on your part which in turn, has influenced my theorisation. How could you! None the less, had I been more astute I would have noted this mistake earlier as intergalactic travel is common in the saga, thus it becomes apparent that the story is set across a universe and not just a galaxy. As for it not being the same universe..............yeah my mistake. Sorry!

(Yeah, and sorry about the mindless twit bit too):halo:

Well actually it could still be in the same universe. lol, There's no exact proof that it isn't in the same. The only proof there is, is that it's fictional, thus we don't actually see it irl. So maybe the question should have been 'Is there a hell in the SW galaxy (which is far far away btw), so that members could at least have speculated on there own that it isn't in the same universe as ours.... Possibly... lol

Actally I think it means I could "possibly" be right but wait, then there's the "parallel universe is mince" rule. And now I'm just confused. God help me or I'll become an LOTR fan instead. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!

It's never going to happen. There's only 1 "Return" and it's "of the Jedi" (Clerks II)

Indeed! Anakin and I were on the floor laughing when we first saw it :D I TRIED to be interested in LOTRs, but the films won't meet me half way! I sit to watch, the least they should be is enjoyable! I don't ask them to be as good as SW, just ENJOYABLE and FUN! But instead it's hour after hour of boredom wrapped in hobbits and bloody elves wearing dresses....

I read the hobbit when I was in highschool and I remember a few things about it, mostly hairy toes but I have no idea what lotr is about. Not a big fan of interspecial erotica either but clerks is indeed extremely funny.

I was interested in LOTR for a while when the movies were out. I read the books etc. But then my interest got lost in learning its metaphors and such.
