I have the Rankin/Bass Complete Original Soundtrack to The Hobbit cartoon, it has some cool extras and I had a few questions about it. I've posted this exact thing on a couple other sites too.
I got it from my Dad who ordered it while in high school (the mailing address on the shipping box is my Grandmother's) and he's kept it well. The Box is in good condition, the records themselves are mint (I'm serious, they have like one fingerprint on them), the poster has some wear on it from being folded in a box so long and crayon scribbles on the back from when a cousin borrowed it in the 80s, there are decals, the book is complete and in great shape too.

    Here are some pictures:

I looked a little online and there is very little. I found nothing like mine, is it valuable (like I'd ever sell it, ever)? I saw something like it on ebay starting for $30 but it mentioned only two discs (visibly bad but playable) and no decals and the book had pages missing.

Also, how cool is my Dad?

    Woah... that is so cool.

I actually have no idea what something like that would be worth... I figure eBay would be the best indicator of price, but then if there aren't many of them out there left, people might not know they want them. *shrug*

It was pretty funny when I came across it, my parents just gave me all of their old record albums and the box for this was just put in with the rest of them. There's something hilarious about this set being sealed in a box with a bunch of Chicago and Fleetwood Mac albums for a decade.

    Wow - great find!
personally I would not sell something like that over e-bay - I would look to a proper tolkien auction - chances are a collectors item like that would fetch more at an event like that -- not that you are out to part with it!
