It has to be Drizzt, he is pure good, fighting on evil on a personal level.

Simon, a less acclaimed hero, but strong of will. Loved him!

I will have to read the Tad Williams books to learn more of this Simon, but doubt that he will compare to Drizzt

....... What is this - there is no Nighteyes on that list!!!!

Darn it you just left off one of the greatest wolves there is! Certainly beats most of the rest of that list in the hero listings! If you don't know however you'd best hurry up and read Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb!
edit - wait you put FITZ in but not Nighteyes ----!!!! !! ! ! !!

Ps your list is also missing Whiskyjack from Malazan Boko of the Fallen and Sgt. Jackrum (Monstrus Regiment - Sir Terry Pratchett)

Drizzt, it's definitely Drizzt. Everything a hero has to have: Driztt has it.

    Rand.

He's the most complex, fully-developed character among the true heroes on the list.

    Garion
I don't like Thomas Covenant, though it isn't exactly his fault that he was brought into that, so he is lost

Out of those names, I voted for Rand Al'Thor, but it was a close thing between Fitz and Garion.
