Personally i'd go for something simple kinda like

    guilt or hatred

a sword spawned for the worlds guilt, or hatred

    maybe make it duel swords

death and rebirth rebith takes life death gives life i.e.

the saying when one dies another is born

Death gives life - the sword death when used alone give regeneration but ages the soul
Rebirth takes life - the sword rebirth when used alone takes life and strengthens the soul
when used together the holder is near immortal

You could also do what men of ancient times did: name your sword after what it does, what it stands for, or what you plan to use it for.

To use a popular example, why don't we look at Excalibur? Excalibur was not, in fact, the sword's original name; in fact, the name changed three times before it reached the name we call it by today. Before Excalibur, it was called Caliburn, and served much the same purpose. Before that, it was Caledfwlch, and before that, it was Caladbolg, the legendary sword of hero Fergus mac Roich. The name translates to something along the line of "hard-belly" (voracious) or "hard lightning", which was supposedly able to chop the tops off of three hills.

But what I''m trying to get at is that, despite how cool names sound, they've all got meanings; naming a sword Chrysaor or calling it The Golden Sword are, in essence, the same thing.

Is the sword good (BAH!) or evil?

    GOOD: Righteous Dawn, Ascension, Purity...

EVIL: Dawn Slayer, Burial, Dissension, Defiler, Bane!

I'm happy to say that evil names outnumber good names! It may be sad for you good people, but I revel in this sort of thing!

How about Vesica, it's latin for blade, I think it suits the sword, anyone know a sword without a blade? (aside from lightsabers)
