Ha ha! I love your enthusiasm! As for what brought me here, a member who used to post quite regularly introduced me to this fine place.

I'm still easing myself back into reading fantasy again, so I should be the one asking YOU for recommendations. However, I do recall having read the first four or five of Raymond E. Feist's works. That was a long time ago of course. My favourite title by him so far would have to be his first though. Magician was a fantastic read!

Oh, and the last fantasy book that I read and truly enjoyed was Taliesin by Stephen R. Lawhead. The ending of that moved me to tears. Damn you, Mr Lawhead! :D

OH, and double OH! I'm also half way through the first book by our resident author extraordinaire, S.J. Faerlind. I am very much enjoying that too! :)

Raymond E Feist had me hooked with magician, but I loved his works with Janny Wurts!
The empire series were the three books I couldn't put down and I loved the scheming and plots...amazing!

I havent read Taliesin yet but i have three more Robert Jordan books to go and I'm free for a new series, good to know you recommend it, although those around me cop it when I'm upset when my favourite characters die or are betrayed...up..i get really involved! ahahah!

also is it strange that whenever i read the name S.J Faerlind i think it says "S J Fairyland" ......... just me?.....oh.......hmmmmm

Oh YES! I completely forgot about those! They were truly amazing. Now that you've reminded me of them, I want to read them again. I should do it.

Ha ha! S.J. will love you for that. Hilarious! :D

    Welcome to TFF Marah-anni :)

Feist is great, although I only really properly enjoyed Magician, which I count amongst my favourite books of all time.

As to time off: I learn new programming languages/techniques and read through Tolkien's essays and lectures (some amazing ones about Beowulf).

    hahahahahaha :D

Up for some new series huh?
I'd suggest "Mistborn" by Brandon Sanderson plus his "Alloy of Law" that is set in the same world but way after the Mistborn series was finished.
Also: the "Coldfire" Trilogy by C.S Friedman is an older series but was amazingly awesome too.
So many good books, so little time.....

I know what you mean about easing yourself back into reading again. I've been so consumed with writing and work for so long that I've barely read anything over the past several years. I'm WAY behind with all of my favorite authors (except for maybe R. Jordan - he is... not quite as productive as he once was sadly :p) but I think it's good I'm getting back into it. Reading other peoples' work has a clearing effect on my head and I think really improves my writing too.
