30 dollars? Is that more expensive, cause I got my Phoenix book for 18...and that was the day it came out too.

Welll, this is bad news if I ever heard any... still another 1/2 year to wait... :(

Yeah... for whoever get's his copy in South Africa....

Well, I did, with OOTP... Both here in the Netherlands and on Heathrow, the Book was completely sold out, so I bought my copy at my holiday destination, 2 days after release :D I was a very lucky boy to find out the best part of SA conciders HP Blasphemy, so enough copies there....

So, I would like to suggest to anyone who missed the preorder and can't find a copy in retail on their side of the world... Take a few days off, and go see something of the African Continent ;)

Jnanee, I think the books are released all over the world at the same time. it was the same for the Odrer of the Phoenix

So, whats da diff, between the title " The Philosopher's stone" ( UK) and the Socerer's stone in ( US)?I've always wondered on dat.

I went to a midnight party at Barnes and Noble for the 5th book. It was full of little kids, but I want to go again for this book, too.

I might re-buy all the books in the "adult" form. They are certainly much nicer.

Basically the reason is different depending where/who you are. If you live in America or are a rabid pro-American then the answer is that the title the author decided on was dumb, the American publisher knew her work better than the stupid foreign person who actually wrote it and 'Sorceror's' is much more in-line with magic and witchcraft and stuff.

For the rest of us there are two answers, one long one for us and a short one you can explain to any Americans who want to know.

    1. That the vast majority of Americans have such a dismal Classical education that they wouldn't recognise a reference to one of Alchemy's 'Holy Grails' (sorry, 'Magic God Cups' to Americans) if it bit them on the a$$.

    2. Most Americans are dumb.

Btw, in case you didn't realise, this post is merely exaggerating for Humourous Effect and should not be taken seriously. (by Americans, everyone else knows it for the truth it is)
