Yay Kris! You finished!! I have someone to talk to it about now! The hubby has not started to read it, and he doesn't have much time to read, so I can't say a word to him about it yet. :(

!!!!MAJOR, HUGE SPOILERS!!!! (highlight to read)

I was SO in shock too!! But it did not really sink in until his portrait was up on the wall. :(

I'm on the fence about the whole Snape thing. I've been reading other message boards, and lots of people think that it was a plan Dumbledore and Snape worked out before hand, which would makes sense that he wanted Harry to only go to Snape, and seemed to stall Draco until Snape got there, and why Dumbledore begged Snape (which is something that I thought he would never do, like he was begging him to do what he was told) and why Snape reacted so violently when Harry called him a coward. Sorry, I'm rambling. :D

But when you think of it as a plan they had beforehand, it makes sense. It's much better for me to me than to think that than that Dumbledore was so wrong and betrayed so horribly. :(

I thought that the 6th book had copied a lot of ideas from the previous 5 books. JK Rowling is running out of original ideas...like the book that belonged to the Half Blood Prince and stuff. I also don't really like her writing style, I find it too kiddish and simple...lol...and I'm only 16 years old...i dunno...it's just not my prefered writing style i guess. However, I still read the book, really entertaining. I enjoyed the simple plot!

Thats exactly what I think. Rowling would not disrespect Dumbledore by making him the ignorant one.

Hmm...I think this theory is possible. But on the flip side, look at it this way: Rowling seemed to be developing Dumbledore's character through this book. If you notice, he becomes less enigmatic and becomes more human and fallible throughout the past couple books. His trust was misplaced in Snape, proving what he says, that when he screws up, it's usually alot worse.

Wonder where you heard that one from? :D

But why would Harry be a Horcrux when Voldemort has been trying to kill him all along? And I'm sure Voldy has always thought he was going to win, he has always been scornful of Harry, and the rest of the Wizarding world. I can't picture him thinking he'd ever fail.

Well Harry would not kill himself and Voldemort has other horcruxes. Maybe he knows how strong Harry is and made him the last horcrux in case the others failed....... no, that doesn't really make sense. Okay, maybe he's sure no one will find the rest of his horcruxes so if he kills Harry it doesn't really matter. When a horcrux is destroyed that part of your soul is destroyed too right? And when a soul is spilt wouldn't it make that person weaker? This is confusing me.

Who is R.A.B.? The only B last names I can think of are Black, Bones, Brown, Bagman,.......... Regulus Black!!!! Isn't he Sirius's brother?

    Oh, he died. :(

    haha no idea ;)

but he never tries that hard..now does he? Maybe he just wanted him to get more of his power back? And he can't have Harry knowing and killing himself..now can he?

And its been said they Voldemort left part of himself on Harry...

    or did he??? ;)

So I read on another forum how there was a locket mentioned at Sirius's house in book 5 that couldn't be opened...and then Becca mentioned Mundungus might have stolen it...when I also realized that Mundungus had a goblet he had stolen from Sirius's house when Harry saw him in Hogsmeade. Could this be the Hufflepuff cup/horcrux???

We think so, she adds those small details on purpose! It mkes sense if RAB really is Regulus, then he had hidden the locket in #12 Grimmauld Place in that cabinet. If Mundungus was trying to sell a cup that he had stolen from the house, makes sense that it would be the cup Voldy stole from that old woman.

Makes it easier on Harry! Was there anything else mentioned in the cabinet?

    Sorry, double post.

Kris, there's a problem with the goblet. It was engraved with the Black family crest, that's how Harry recognized it. So it can't be the Horcrux, that had the Hufflepuff crest on it, right?

Ah well, it was a good thought while it lasted. Still, we should get credit for connecting the two! :D

On the R.A.B. thing.....i really wish i knew who it is.....and i wonder if they were involved in or will be involved in destroying the other horcruxes....perhaps they are somehow connected to dumbledore or maybe it's even dumbledore.....but i think it's Sirius' bro.....Regulas ? Black....Cause two of the initials fit....but maybe that's just what Rowling wants us to think.....who knows.....g*d....it's gonna be way to long of wait till book 7

I agree with Nynaeve about Snape-Dumbledore, and that's one of the speculations I'm entertaining.

But does anyone think that Snape is REALLY the Half-Blood Prince? I don't, despite what he claimed. If you remember, in the chapter "A Very Frosty Christmas," Harry asked Lupin if James had called himself the Half-Blood Prince, and Lupin encouraged him to check the publishing date: the book was over 50 years old, and Harry assumed that the book had been around far, far before James Potter. I think it might be Voldemort, but there's also the possibility that Snape got the book from a secondhand bookshop.

And I also think that RAB is Regulus. After all, he addressed the note to "the Dark Lord," and I'm pretty sure that only Death Eaters call Voldemort that.
