Well hello, everybody out there. I suppose I should, to begin with, tell you a little bit about myself. I am a traveller, or was in my youth. From the Pyramids of Giza to the Mongolian Steppe, I could never resist the lure of exotic lands, and so whenever finances and other commitments would allow I threw off the shackles of an otherwise conventional existence and went exploring, albeit in a more humble manner than that of the great Magellan or Polo. It is from hearing the mythology and fables of different cultures that I first developed a taste for the fantastic, and this has stayed with me ever since, even though the memories of those far-off places have begun to dim and fade in my mind. My favourite authors number: Joe Abercrombie, Ray Bradbury, Tad Williams, J.R.R. Tolkien, Stephen Donaldson, George RR Martin, Ian Rankin and Arthur Conan Doyle, amongst a host of others. I don't have a favourite film, as I don't attend the cinema (I'm only slightly ashamed to admit that I don't even own a TV). My only link to the outside world these days (apart from the internet) is the radio, with whom I've had a most rewarding love affair for the past twenty years. Anyway, that's enough about me. I'm happy to be here, and I'll try not to bore you too much with my pronouncements in any future posts.
