Beatles have had the most influence, but they are not the best-sounding musicians.

Better singer, better guitar player. Worse at lyrics, but better at writing the instrumental chords and notes for songs.

Better singer in your opinion. I for one find Dylan's voice to be amazing, but from a verbatum musical standpoint, you can't consider it 'great'. but it's amazing, admit it or not.

Better gutair player- i admitted that.

    Worse at lyrics- everyone is

Chords- true, dylan took most of his chords from old songs he'd heard before. But dylan's chords certainly sound better in the end.

You know what I would love to hear, a Neil Young song with lyrics written by Bob Dylan.

The song still has Bob Dylans chord writing. What I'm talking about is completely done by Neil Young in every way except for the lyric writing. also I think best version of that song was by Jimi Hendrix.

I'm just saying that nearly everyone agrees with that... You can't very well assume my motives over the internet.

Well I am humbled, this I will admit, I did not know Prince could play so many instruments, that I freely admit, thank you for informing me on this. However I still don't enjoy his music or think he should be there, but that's my oppinion. If everyone agreed on everything there would be no need for polls. I've said my bit and I stick by it, if you'd like to keep attacking me for my oppinion, feel free to do so, it is my oppinion and you won't change it by being a dick about it no matter how much you disagree with it.

I wasn't guessing your motives. I was inquiring about them, hence the question mark.

Hendrix MIGHT be the best gutair player. But that's about all i can give him.

I voted for Presley, because as my dad put it, "Without Elvis, the Beatles would never have existed." He redefined what white musicians and singers could do.

So while I initially went to click Beatles, I chose Elvis instead.

Speaking strictly musically, not lyrically or changing the world etc - The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Flea is awesome on the bass, Chad Smith is a god on the drums and those 2 work so well together as the rythm section, John Fruscante is awesome ont ehg uitar, and they just work so well together as a band. Dynamic musicians, masters of their instruments, who all work together and gel so well.

Many others on the original list were influential, but not that great musically.
