If they make the silmarilion into a move, it would have to be in 3 or 4 installments. And I think that Sean Connery should be cast as Thorin (still cant believe he turned down a part in LOTR)

NAhhh all of these high class actors are not needed. we need some people who are reletivlely unknow like the cast of the FOTR when it first came out. Sure we knew some big names but alot of th guys were just starting out.

Dont know what part he was offered, just remembered reading an article where he was explaining why he chose to be in LXG. He said that he turned down LOTR because he didnt understand it. He said that he turned down The Matrix, twice, because he didnt understand it. he ended up saying that he didnt understand LXG, but he would be darned if he turned it down.

connery was offered to play gandalf, and i am glad he turned it down, dont get me wrong i love sean connery, but ian mekellon is gandalf, he is perfect, i just dont think that connery would have done the part right.

    - Yes dwarf tossar, tim curray in legend . . . Awesome, he makes a scary devil, or demon like creature, i dont remember what he was, i guees that means i'll just have to rent it and watch it again.

Okay, how about brian blessed for torin, every time i watch the first series of blackadder, he seems very dwarvish. He might be okay for beorn.

I couldnt imagine anyone else as bilbo, even before he was cast in LOTR i just knew he was perfect for the role. The hobbit would be dissapointing without him but i can understand why he wouldnt be in it, unless severely prosthetisiced.

Ok - How about James Earl Jones as the voice for Smaug.

    Robin Williams as Bilbo.

Robbin williams no, definately not, you'd have to do it liek LOTR, not with huge actors because then everyone with think of the actor and not the character (and robbin williams is reknowned funny-man). Plus it would be 90% better with a british actor.

As for james earl jones, that quite good.
