lol, That's a pretty broad range for the release date.
^ It's in a British date format dd/mm/yy rather than US mm/dd/yy ~ but I'm sure you knew that anyway
*curses loudly* Though I have to admit I didn't really expect it anytime soon.
Someone linked this very amusing blog on Westeros - it's a guy blogging chapter-by-chapter about his first read of AGOT. He's picking up a lot of stuff, going wrong on quite a bit more and generally being very irreverent. Check it out!
A couple of favourites:
Just go read it .
Thanks for the link, Lya!
I laughed so hard. Probably because I am on glass of wine #3, but nonetheless.
That blog was awesome...and very funny.
I am going to be following it as he reads the rest of the book.
Hahahaha just those quotes are enough. I totally just bookmarked it.
EDIT: I am now very seriously considering giving up my avatar/banner just to have a signature compounded of AWESOME QUOTES from this blog.
"Always heed the wise old guy (unless you're six and he's asking you to get in his van)."
"Apparently, the Starks are training Rickon to be Batman."
"* 8,000 years? Really? Right now we're on year 2009 and we have the Internet and space shuttles while poor King Robert travels by covered wagon."
"PS - Magister Illyrio has one of the best gangster (or rapper) names ever, and he's already in the business of human trafficking."
"700 pages left means the Starks are going south. Warm weather and naked chicks here we come! Wooo spring break!"
"Uncle Benjen tells him that with great power comes great responsibility -- the responsibility of not having sex, not owning lands, and fighting supernatural monsters. But Jon doesn't want to father bastards, and emo rages his way out of the hall."
This guy is awesome. He is now included in my daily check of webcomics.
Jaeer. Bookmarked him to. Going through the list of things I check every day is taking a larger and larger chunk out of my day.
Is there a limit to how many quotes you can have in a signature? 'cause this one is just awesome:
* I laughed out loud when I saw that the Arryn motto is "as high as honor" and they have a bastard girl named "Mya Stoned".
I feel horrible for ruining your point but, ain't it Stone?
Who cares? That guy's blog is amazing.
lol I have never really read these books, but I am just putting it out there, doesn't everyone else think it would sound better if it was A Song of Fire and Ice instead?
Not really. oO
Hmm, gotten hold of the audiobook version so time to do some listening as I cba to read in this heat.
No, but I do think the Sword of Truth series would have been better if it were titled- 'This book is complete crap, dont buy it.'
But on a serious note, I always thought that "Sword of Truth" was a moronic title for a weapon that didn't do anything about the truth. It sounds like what the Sword of Shannara should have been called. The SoT should have been named The Angry Sword, or The Sword of Don't-Kill-Your-Friends.
I agree. Or "the sword that isnt neccessary because the guy weilding it has magic."
That one I like.
Separate names with a comma.
