November launch for Power of Chaos: YUGI THE DESTINY

Konami of Europe launches first in series of PC Yu-Gi-Oh! titles with special Limited Collector's Edition

Konami of Europe is to bring its phenomenally successful Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise to PC CD-ROM, with a specially packaged collector's edition of Yu-Gi-Oh! Power of Chaos: YUGI THE DESTINY to launch on November 28th. The new game will be the first of many Yu-Gi-Oh! Power of Chaos titles for the format, as Konami continues to grow the series.

As befits the first Yu-Gi-Oh!TM title for PC CD-ROM, the Limited Collector's Edition of Power of Chaos: YUGI THE DESTINY will be housed within packaging resembling the famous triangular Millennium Puzzle, which is synonymous with the series, and will also contain five official Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Cards. The game has been designed to introduce PC users to the thrilling concept of the Yu-Gi-Oh! series, and offers a stunning recreation of the intricacies of the Trading Card Game as players challenge the series' ultimate card master: Yami Yugi!

Power of Chaos: YUGI THE DESTINY makes excellent use of its host format's capabilities, with incredibly detailed representations of the many cards accompanied by vocal talents of the actor who plays Yami Yugi in the TV series. Yami Yugi is the series' hero and Power of Chaos: YUGI THE DESTINY sets the player the unenviable task of defeating the card master at his own game. To ease the player into the game, however, the PC game features a comprehensive tutorial mode that explains the many possibilities the cards afford via a series of visual demonstrations, with Yami Yugi himself offering advice and playing tips.

Once the player feels suitably proficient, they are ready to face Yami Yugi in either 'best out of three' Match Duel battles or Single Duels. Each deals the player a number of trap, monster and spell cards from the 155 available, with the player combining the assorted cards to launch attacks on those held by Yami Yugi or to defend from his attacks. When the opponent's hit-points are depleted, the game is won, but Power of Chaos: YUGI THE DESTINY also offers additional challenges including trying to collect all 155 cards.

Featuring a simple yet effective mouse-based control system that gives the user total control over their deck, and with powerful options to sort the decks and experiment with card combinations, Power of Chaos: YUGI THE DESTINY is a stunning introduction to the Yu-Gi-Oh! phenomenon. It also marks the first in a series of Yu-Gi-Oh! titles for the PC CD-ROM format, with more to follow throughout 2004.
