It's been a long time since I last posted! Real life and law exams get in the way of costuming! Anyway, here are the first pictures of my version of Galadriel's Mirror Gown, although it is nowhere near finished. I still need to bead all the fabric with iridescent seed beads, then do all the finishing touches. http://s235.photobucket.com/albums/ee282/queenevenstar/Galadriel%20Mirror%20Gown/ I completely hand beaded the belt from the pictures from the LOTR EE galleries, though I made mine more the color that we see when she appears to Frodo after he has collapsed in Shelob's lair. I felt the gallery pictures were too yellow, and I wanted a more 'as seen on screen' version. It is made out of embroidered crinkled silk chiffon and silk satin, both from India, which are extremely beautiful. But I decided to bead it to get that real sparkle! I made this for my mum who is hobbit height (around 4' 11"!) so the train puddles a lot more when it is on her than the dressmaker's doll. Also, I left it on my measurements so it doesn't really fit the doll. But I have to say I think she looks stunning in it! Hope you enjoy it!
