Ok, this thread has been created purely to give some further background information to what's going on in this world. I'll put up the history on Desah and the demons first, then Lilith will put up the information on Thelestia and the angels, and then lastly I'll give you all the information on Gaia and it's many races. So without further ado...

    Desah and the Demons

Desah is the large land of the demons, the entrance hidden incredibly well from anyone who isn't a demon, almost a sign of their dislike of outsiders. To fully get an idea of what it's like, think of a VERY large underground cavern, surrounded by volcanic wastelands and rivers of flame. High up in the air, where there should be a sky, there is only the roof of this cavernous pit, and over all of this is a harsh reddish glow of light which never dies down. Hence, Desah was also known as the Land of Light, a land where night never came. In amidst the volcanic wastelands, lay many cities, not primitive by any means, but neither did they display any amazingly advanced technology. Roaming the wastelands were many different creatures, creatures who had adapted to life in the harsh environment of Desah, and who were ultimately hunted by the mainly carnivorous demons. And the demons themselves...

The demons looked very much like humans. The only real physical signs they were anything but humans, were the slightly pointed ears, the razor sharp fangs, and their eyes. However, most people never got close enough to see these distinctive marks. The demons were a vicious race, and, while they rarely went out of their way to start a war, they were a solitary race, preffering to keep to themselves and disliking all others. They were very much a warrior race, every demon being trained to fight as soon as they could walk, however there were also some incredibly adept mages in the demon race. Despite all this, the demons, while not being unintelligent by any means, were not the brightest race when it came to science, and this was why their technology was rather underdeveloped. However, probably the most notable thing, the thing which made the race of demons known worldwide as someone to fear, was the attack, and ultimate triumph over the angels.

No-one can remember exactly how the war between these two powerful races began. However, what is known among the demons and the angels is that it was the angels who actually started the war for some unknown reason. Shortly after they had instigated the war, the angels stopped, however the demons still wanted revenge for all of their already-slaughtered brethren, and kept attacking, thus forcing the angels to defend themselves. Thus, the war continued on, neither side giving nor asking for quarter, until, after devastating all the other cities of angels, the demons launched their attack on Thelestia, and finally, killed the last of the angels (or so they thought). With this job well-done, and their sworn enemies lying dead, the demons returned to Desah, to continue their usual relatively peaceful life. However, the peace didn't last long. Soon after returning to Desah, a civil war broke out among the demons, the reason still unknown. The civil war was fierce, demon against demon, slowly killing off their race if they didn't realise their mistake and rectify it. It was during this period that Belzar was brought to Gaia by someone whom he had thought of as a friend, and despite overpowering him, Belzar was lost in Gaia. Meanwhile, down in Desah around this time, a mysterious warrior had shown up. Wearing full armour so no-one could see him, he marshalled a small army of demons underneath him and destroyed all the demons who would not join him. However, after conquering Desah fully, the warrior brought forth his army of loyal followers from Gaia's races and betrayed those demons who were previously under his command. Thus, the last remnants of the demon race fell into history, and the warrior turned his sights to Gaia.

Okay, hopefully that's a decent background of the demons and Desah, stay tuned for our next instalment of Thelestia and the angels. ^_^

Okay, backround on Thelestia comming up ^_^

    Thelestia and The Angels

Thelestia, the center of all angel residence, was a beautiful and thriving city. THe walls were made of sparkling white stone that protected all the angles within. Homes and buildings were set elegantly on magical clouds that supported them. The city was beautiful in every way imaginable. The angels within it's walls were also beautiful and gracful, protecting the Earth and the races within. Each angel had a job in the City. Majority of the jobs were to watch over the people of the eath. Elves, humans, felis', Canis': all were watched by an angel. Each angel of the guardian angels were assigned to chosen to watch over one particular person or a small group of them. Myths of these angels were legendary. Many reported that the magical essence and power of angels saved them in times of need. THus, were the jobs of most. Other jobs included helping the backbone of the City.Several angels a century come to the palace to learn the ways of the saints and thier rule. Few reach it to Apprentice. Several quit or move one to do other things. The apprentices study and as they grow older learn the ways and the right of the customs of the Human race and all the other races on earth. After this was done, one may help out with the 4 saints as thier assistants or helpers. Others may choose to become tangled in politics of the other nieghboring cities. At the time there was only three nieghboring Cities: Galazite, Deltore, and the smallest, Dronas. Each was supportive to THelestia and all angels who lived there.

The City of Thelestia had 4 rulers. Saints called Johnathan, Gabrieal, Luke, and Micheal. These saints ruled from the castle that stood in the Center of all Thelestia. They ruled for as long as anyone could remeber, yet they looked the part of younger and agile men. THier rule was a rule of peace and happiness for all, even the people of the earth. However, soon the angels became cocky, and battles between demons and themselves broke out all over earth as they tried to find out where the demons main city was. See, the angels had been annoyed and cruel towards the demons for some time. Many were killed in fights that broke out all over the world with various demons. Finally, without the saints permission, a mighty war broke out between the demons and angels. When the saints found out about this, they begged the angels to stop and cease fire. But all of them were in too deep.

Years passed before the angels, beated and war worn, decided they were being too cruel and un-justice toward the demons. They withdrew from the battle, yet, to no surprise, the demons kept comming. THe nieghboring cities fell before anyone could help. The saints remained at the castel, afraid and worried for thier people and thier consequences. THey knew it would all be over soon. It wasent long before the city of Thelestia was bathed with thier blood. Every single angel was dead. None surrendered until thier last breath.

It is said that no angel was ever found until that day the sky turned red. The sky has been red ever since in that part. As all looked apon the once proud city, those clouds on which it stood were red and dying. All things were barred from its walls until angels once again came apon it. None could enter the city or surrounding cities again.

Ok, and now for the parts of further information that actually concern the rest of you. LMAO ^_^ To simplify it a bit, because of the number of races, this first post will be a small description of Gaia itself, and then I'll move, post by post, to the other races.

    Gaia

Gaia is the landmass which lies between Thelestia and Desah. It was also the last land mass to get any creatures growing on it. Long after Desah and Thelestia had already started growing, Gaia's first creatures evolved.

Gaia is naturally divided into two halves by a large mountain range running down the middle. On one half lies the beautiful lush, lands, filled with forests and rivers. This half of Gaia is home to the majority of the races, such as the humans, the elves, the felis and the canus. Here, magic is strong within the land itself, and people who live here can be naturally adept at wielding the powers of magic.

The mountain range itself stretches farther than the eye can see, and is full of crevasses and deadly caves. Dwelling on the mountains are the goblins, while the dwarves dwell inside the mountains itself. These two races have an uneasy alliance, as the goblins keep the mountains safe from intruders, and in return the dwarves supply them with their weaponry and armour. However, this all ended when the majority of the goblin race sided with the unknown warrior. Yet the dwarves continue to fight fiercly to try and reclaim the cavernous homes.

On the other side of the mountain ranges, is a desolate, blasted landscape. Here, very few things grow, and the forests that are standing are dark, and filled with creatures beyond imagination. It is in the centre of this desert that the unknown warrior has set up his main citadel.

Now, on to the humans... Bear in mind though, that whatever I write about each race is, once again, a general idea. Individuality pops up in every race ^_^

    The Human Race

The humans are the most well-rounded and abundant race on Gaia. Not leaving long, they look as you would expect them to. When it is said they are well-rounded, it is meant that they are equally capable of learning magic or physical combatry with equal prowess. They are also very curious, and most new spells or weapon designs that are created, are done so by humans.

The human cities are vast, and awe-inspring. They have incredibly defenses, but at the same time they are not usually a war-mongering race, their main trade being in farming and other such natural resources. They have very good bonds with the other races, being the lead race in terms of diplomacy, and as such they are in a good position.

Or at least they were. Since the unknown warrior appeared, the human leaders have been at the forefront of the battle, leading their people into battle, alongside countless others from other races. As such, the human population is falling drastically, and if something is not done soon, the human race will cease to exist.
