$295 is not bad. Does anyone know when Sauron's helmet will be released!
theres no official statement about the release date, yet ....
United asked us to only say that they will become available sometime this fall. At first they were expecting a November release date, but it may be a a tad bit later, so just in case they don't make the release date they are asking all retailers to only
say this fall.
And we play by the rules! changing website now.
Ha. I see it is the first day of fall. Nice swordsman.
Does anyone know where else the exhibition will travel to? I would love to see it if it were in NY or Boston.
Yes, if anyone knows where the tour is heading, please post. I hope the West Coast is on the bill.
Why not Ireland!?!
ireland wont be on the list, since london is the only stop in europe ....
it must be going somewhere there, all i know is it'll be in london till january the 11th, so you've got a while to find out.
Sauron's helm has not been scheduled yet, but it won't be out this year and it may not be made of metal like the others. It is looking to be just too costly to make a real, functional hand made metal Sauron helm on a production basis. It will likely be made of hard resin, painted to look like the etched and worn metal, similar to the shooting prop. The plan is still to have it wearable.
Gimli's helm should be shipping sometime late next month. No word on Elendil's yet.
Thanks for the heads up Kit, still even if the Sauron Helm can't be made of metal I am sure it will still be something to behold, United will be sure of that.
Good to hear about the Helm of Gimli too! Lots of folks are waiting on theres.
Yeah, I'm glad it won't be metal. So there's a slim chance that I might be able to afford it.
I saw both Gimli's Helm and Elendils in the newest MRL catalogue. In the description they say, "Made by Windlass Steelcrafts". Did UC sub-contract out to Windlass to make them, or is this a typo?
Well I wish it was metal. But I am sure I will buy it either way. Maybe UC should team up with Sideshow. They make some beautiful resin repro's.
Now that would be an excellent combonation!
I'll get it either way, but I was hoping for metal.
if sideshow and uc did come together then uc could make anything from the films, that would be cool, and thank god for the sauron helm, maybe i can save up for it now.
Something tells me that those cats at Sidewhow don't work cheap. I'm sure someone at UC has brought this up, but in manufacturing, you have certain profit margins that you work within (otherwise you are just trading $$) and that is why the UC swords are made in some part of asia. Labor is cheaper and if you know your operation, you can still have very good quality control.
This is just a guess, but I think that if someone like Sidewhow made the helm, the price would have to go up to a point where most couldn't afford it.
And I wouldn't like to drop it if it was made of resin. Imagine how many pieces you'd have to glue back together!
i envy everyone living in the US.
around 175-200$ for a sword, that aint much.
for those prices i would have bought them all.
Byt sadly i live in sweden where they are available for like
if i were to buy from US the shipping would be like 50-60$
+ 30% in custom fee!!!!
260x1.3= 338$ still to much...
by the way how much does the swords cost in england?
i have seen them in germany for like 319eur
it depends where you buy them in england, some placs they just change the $ to a £, which is a rip off as pounds are worth more than dollars, but in some places they come to about £190, which is still expensive, so were being ripped off in england.
despite this ill do whatever to get anduril, it looks too good to leave alone.
