Its because so much of the Frodo character happens behind the words and sights.

I would hate if they ever tried to make a R. Hobb book into a film!

They're both emo, but I'll go with Harry, because at list he can do magic, Frodo is just a small dude that has no skills...

Yeah just a small dude who can't use magic and managed to reach Mordor, get inside the "wolf's mouth" with his friend Sam,resist the temptation to keep the One Ring for himself(at least until he got to the Mountain of Doom)and saved Middle-Earth.

Yup.No skills.Really just some stupid little worthless hobbit. Not like that magic user show-off Harry Potter.

Exactly, he survived by chance and strength of will and a lot of aid, he has no skills but walking and the trinkets that the elves and Bilbo gave him.

He's hero for managing to do all that.To make it to the end of his journey and help defeat Sauron. That tiny hobbit.

I think Sam is the bigger hero, not to mention that Frodo submited to the ring and if Golum didn't bite it off then we'd have that "tiny hero hobbit" dead just like Isildur(sp?).
But if you want to go with the who's the bigger hero, then Harry saved the world and he's also a martyr because he sacreficed himself to do it.

Well yeah, but he didn't know he won't die, and maybe he was dead for a few minutes...she really wrote the last book in a hurry...

Sam didn't had to carry the One Ring like Frodo did and hadn't used it in the amount that Frodo had used it,that's why he was even more resiliant to it.Oh yeah sure let's see what Harry Potter would do if he was given the One Ring....hmm....wreck havoc?Get completely corrupted and evil?Attack his friends?

I somehow find Frodo far more noble and heroic than Harry Potter.

How would I know what Harry would do with the one ring?My guess is he'd probably give it to DD, DD would destroy it and we all live happily ever after.

Remember that Frodo only lost to the ring fully at the last moment - when the ring is not only at its strongest but also at its most desperate - but Frodo could not have done the journy without Sam - alone he would have lost all conection with the world as Golom did and hidden away in the dark places.

And without the Fellowship, I think that distraction in the end was quite monumental.

The One Ring can only be undone in Mount Doom!

Sure, in Middle Earth, but considering there is no Mount Doom in HP world, then there is no ring either, there, problem solved.

There's an interesting point. DD was tempted by the Ring. Gandalf might as well have ("Do Not Tempt Me, Frodo Baggins") - but he wasn't. In the end, DD distroyed his Ring, but ultimately it cost him his life.

I can't bring myself to vote for either of these characters...

If HP was transported to MiddleEarth, I'd offer to take the ring to Mordor. Not to destroy, but straight to Sauron with a little note attached with HP's & FB's addresses so he could go waste them or capture them for eternal torment & torture....

Frodo, beacause Harry Potter sucks IMO, more people have the nickname Frodo, and Frodo sound frikin awsome when a Scotsman says it.

Lol that's lame. You're actually putting self preference above logic. And again the question goes: what will happen if Harry got the One Ring instead of Frodo?
