Well my devilfish arrived in one peice despite being unboxed. And without instructions I managed to put it together alright, though I've got work to do so painting will be delayed.

anyway seems that site is alright, when paying it seemed a bit fishy but I've got the goods, Next time I'm in town I'll get a bank statement to make sure I've not been swindled but looks like its a good source for cheaper-than-usual GW models.

    huzzah!

    mmmm, maybe a crisis suit...

Damnit , I KNEW i shouldnt have bought those fire warriors, I have a model addiction now, Theres an airfix graveyard in my attic from the last bout, my poor poor student wallet.....

ebay - only reason I don't like it is that its not a store - can be a little fiddly
but good luck with the sprues!

true - you don't get much for your cash - at least rulebooks give you a little more fluff (and art!) - though they are still expensive

Its more annoying for me to get into it now, since I heard the 5th edition and hence rulesbooks and codicies? will get an update in july. So do I wait a few months of not knowing how to use anything or buy an expensive book for the intervening time...

I'm perusing ebay atm though, trying to justfy my tau addiction by buying stuff cheaper

Well got some crisis suits coming off ebay, with postage comes about half the price of the real thing, only difference is theyre lacking a box.

Since I've not actually started playing yet, getting pre-made and painted figures isnt appealing to me as doing it yourself is so much more fun (even if I do suck at painting, I enjoy it)

though today someguy put up an 8000 pt apocalypse army (in segments) all starting at 99p, including groups of 3 tanks in one lot and the £300 forgeworld Orca dropship (anyone seen the manta btw, that thing is just ridiculous).

Heres hoping I can bag the orca for a fiver...

Foregworld shit is usually quite coveted, but hopefully nobody else really spotted it and you can get it for cheap!

    How I wish I had a Thunderhawk Gunship :(

Someone jumped it up to 100 today oh well.

thunderhawk is pretty cool though, its one of the few imperial planes that benefits from the chunky look.

I once saw a great conversion of a thunderhawk - the guy had the regular model, but wanted there to be an interior - so he made one - inside the hawk!

Well DoW2 was annouced fully today, not much details though, more melee combat was all I got from it, scale is still a question, they much have tyranids in it. theyll be using the Compnay of heroes engine i think, fully destructible everything.

Soulstorm owners will get in the beta.

    That is all.

Well there you go, already a better painter than most of the 40k community. Certainly better than when I had started (and probably better than I am now!).

the photo is deceptive as all the messups are conveniently either hidden or too low res to spot.

still, without close scrutiny they look nice.

thats what theyre for, annoying the crap out of you, blocking line of fire etc, big plus that most tau vehicles can just drop them into the field at any time and practically for free.
