I've only played FF7, FF8, and FF10, but not FF9. I was wondering if you think I should get it? My friend who's played it said it was very short and nothing special, but when I see screenshots of it I can't help but feel tempted to try it out.
    What do you think?

Its a good play...and you'll love Vivi (the most amaing character ever tying with Squall I must say). But don't be put off the the semi-chibiness of the character, and generally you'll enjoy it, I did (thought the music was a bit naf).

I've played 7, 8, and Tactics. After playing 9 for the first time, I thought it was an O.K. game, but nothing special. But, I started another playthrough, and I must say it's a lot better than the first time I played it...better than 7 i think, but its a 3-way tie between 8, Tactics, and 9...hmm...
The music is pretty good (You're not alone=goodness), the battle system is so-so, the characters are great, and the story is AWESOME!
The only real drawback is that it's easy...some parts can be hard though.

It is great. I have played it through like 4 times. Yeah, I know. It may seem a little like ahhh I don't like that by the cover. Just get past the first disc and you will be like okay this game is tight. So go for it.

Cheesy is right, it may be a bit easy, but its still a good play, what I really thought was cool, was the fact that you leanred abilites through the use of your wepaons, armour, acessories, etc. But be ware, do not be put of by Kuja, yes you may think him a poof, but still its a good game.

Thanks for the advice guys! I don't think the graphics or lack of decent music will bother me, it's more about the quality of gameplay and storyline that are important to me. I think I'll try it out as soon as I've completed FFX!

It also has, in my opinion, the best battle theme out of all the Final Fantasy's. I was humming it for ages :)

Best battle music ever is 'The Extreme' which is the ending boss music of FFVIII when you fight Ultamecia Ultamecia (final form) Imo that is...also the chocobo music was amazing in FFIX (as it was in every other one!).

I did not enjoy FFX as much as the others (still good in its right), but the inro music Otherworld was amazing, porbably the only music that I found better than The extreme

Do any of you get that little feeling of reminiscence whenever you look at a final fantasy you completed? Just remembering all the time you put into it...*sigh* Time is nasty :)

Well I am replaying FF7, and currently I've just fought a boss that I have never ever come across. The Materia Keeper in Mt. Nibel....I don't know how I missed it the other 2 times!

Yeah that was a fun battle, and I loved having four characters in battle instead of three.

I prefer three...too easy with four...also I find easier in three becasue each character heals and helps another in a cycle that works better in three than four...Imo that is
