Yeah, this is a poll for female characters. Same rules apply - multiple characters, tell why you like them.

    My vote goes to:

1)Arya Stark. She's training to become a warrior, and unlike her sister Sansa, she's still trying to control her own fate. She also has/had (depending on what theory you favor) a direwolf.

    1) (Tied for 1st) Asha Greyjoy. She's one of the most entertaining characters, and she's the free and independent sort to make her own way. She's also one of the few female warriors, and a lot more ruthless than Arya. She's competent, too, which is something I like in female characters, who tend to be "wispy" in other series.

    2) Val the Wildling. I admire her a lot, and she's kind of like Asha.

    3) Myrcella Baratheon. Although we haven't seen too much of her so far, I have a theory that she'll be a major player soon... I do like what I know of her - nice and kind, and definitely does not take after Cersei, Robert, or Jaime.

My vote went to Arya and Daenerys.

Arya, because she is cool character to read about, shes one of the few surviving Starks and is definently gonna play a big role in the series, and as LDH mentioned, she had a Direwolf. And Direwolves rule :D And on top of that, she may soon be a Faceless (Wo)man.

And Dany, because she is another strong character, AND she has 3 Dragons. Now that is awesome. She also has a huge, and expanding army and is soon gonna invade the Seven Kingdoms.

Another reason I chose these two, is neither are likely to die :D

I was torn between Arya and Dany as well, but Dany won out. I love how much she changes in just the first book. She has great things ahead of her.

Let's be honest though, almost all the women on this list kick butt.

If I were to have to choose (and switch sexes), I would go with Ellaria Sand. She knows what she wants and how to get it. I leaned towards Arya and Dany of course, and I have sympathies for Sansa and Myrcella, and pretty much every other character. I'm surprised though, no Cersei? She's one of the most important females in the series.

I agree. Probably just an oversight. I was a little bit surprised not to see Margery...is it Baratheon now? She was cool too.

I didn't put Cersei (because although she's a really important character, I strongly doubt that ANYONE wants to be her.)

Dany's an interesting character, but frankly, I don't want to be her. She has 3 dragons, true... but she was married at 13 (YUK!), is having a pretty guilty conscious right now (all of her dead followers) and is going to know 3 betrayals.

    Compare that to Asha... :p

Hate to correct you, but all of GRRM's characters kick butt. ;) :D

So true. I'll tell ya, I think I'm becoming clinically obsessed with these books. This can't be healthy behavior.

i picked sansa because she is completely 100% different than me. i think it would be interesting to experience her perspective for awhile. to be so naive again is kind of appealing to me.

I agree, Ellaria is a force to be reckoned with. I think we'll be seeing much more of her!

Dany. Because it would be pretty cool to have the only dragons in the world.

I didn't vote for her, But Ayra is my second choice.

    1. Arya, she's just awesome and prolly my favourite female character in the series lol.
    2. Dany, for obvious reasons.
    3. Olenna... now, she might be old, but she is so mean yet devious yet somehow good... reminds me of my own grandma rofl.

    1. Asha. She reminds me of me in the way she sees guys.
    2. Dany, again for obvious reasons.
    3. Myrcella, even though I didn't vote for her. We don't see much of her at the moment, but I have a feeling she's really something underneath it all...

    1. Ellaria: It's about who you want to be after all and she's probably got the best the deal of the lot (pre-Oberyn's death anyway). Besides I like her Dornish "who cares about convention?" attitude.
    2. Sansa: 'Cause I love Sansa and she's always been the one I identified with most.
    3. Myrcella: I seriously think she could end up Queen after the final bloodbath. I definitely think she's got a big part left to play.

Cersei, for reasons that may or may not be perverted (if you guessed may not you are incorrect), mirrors would be my friend, and so would my brother :p, okay I have revealed to much. Seriously though, in such a male dominated, violent and patriarchal culture I would rather not be female. It seems like the likelihood that you will get raped or badly abused by a man in the ASOIF world is high if you are female. Although to want to be any character in the ASOIF world seems stupid, for any reason other than sexual partners or sheer sexiness, to me because like in the ASOIF world would in general suck. The only competitive advantage I could see for having a life in ASOIF would be for a hot girl or guy, period (okay maybe I am just being self righteous in justifying my perversion, whatever, I am an 18 year old virgin, would one expect me to be anything but perverted).

I voted for Arya because I'm a guy and shes a little tom boy, badass.

I do like most characters but Sansa is kind of a snotty **** at times...
