Who's your favourite Realms based character? Personally, I like Pharaun......... the drow mage from the War of the Spider Queen.

Drizzt Do'urden is gonna wipe this category. I also liked Montolio and Bruenor. The interplay between Drizzt and Wulfgar is great too, although there is something lacking in Wulfgar as a solo character.

After Drizzt it absolutely has to be Danilo Thann, from the Elaine Cunningham books in the Harpers series. His foppish front is very entertaining, and a lot of fun to copy. It really drives people up the wall.

I like Drizzt, his panther and Cattie-brie. I didnt really like Wulfgar but he did kick alot of ass in a fight. Ive only read the "Dark Elf Trilogy" though. Artemis Etrerei (sp) was alright too.

I've not read the prelude series (forget what it's called) But I read the rest of the Drizzt books, actually working on the last one right now. Most of them are entertaining, if a bit predictable and occasionally cheezy.

Drizzt Do'Urden! :D Except for one thing about him - he likes Cattie Brie  So you can probably guess one of my least favourite characters... Guen is cool too.

To answer Turin's question, the prelude series is The Dark Elf Trilogy. They are exceptional books.

The Icewind Dale Trilogy (the Crystal Shard one) was the first written. The Dark Elf Trilogy is the first chronologically. I always read books in the order they were written, others will say you should follow the time line in the books.

I agree with Unraveller, I think you should go with Icewind dale first. It gets things off to a good start.

I agree that you could (and should) finish the Icewind Dale trilogy first.............. there's so much in the Dark Elf trilogy that will make sense. Read the Dark Elf trilogy after Icewind Dale, but before any of the other books.
