I just take these films for a sci-fi/fantasy story. If I do that, I can enjoy them quite a bit.
What does everyone else take them as, history? I'm not sayin' you have to delve into them to understand them. I'm just tryin' to say that in order to appreciate the script, there are often points in time when a person must "imagine" that stuff happens that they don't get to see.
1. Return of the Jedi
2. Revenge of the Sith
3. The Empire strikes back
4. A New Hope
5. The Phantom Menace
6. Attack of the Clones

Yah...you could argue that Christenson's acting isn't very good...but I think that lots of it was lucas telling him to act that way...I think that Lucas wan't to make anakin look indecisive....and that kinda shows up on screen as what some people call "bad acting" ...sometimes i wonder if it means he is great...because it is extremely hard to do something poorly...when all your life you've been taught to do it right....i dunno...but it's worth thinking about...
btw...i voted rots...though i'll have to wait like a year to know for sure...cause it could just be that it's new...and that i saw it on a fricking huge screen in a theater instead of at home...
I agree with anakin on the darkness of the films. I always viewed ESB as the darkest episode of the series. But then I saw ROTS and it was WAYYY darker. And darkness really plays a key role into my attraction to these movies. Still I wouldn't be able to choose between the three that i previously stated.
TESB has always been my favourite. It has fantastic character arcs, brilliant effects (especially the asteroid chase), the most dynamic design, great tragedy for Luke and Han and the "I am your father" moment is unparalleled in modern cinema.
I thought TPM and AOTC are the weakest of the series. To me TPM doesn't really belong in the series. For AOTC, although technically and story-wise a much better movie than TPM, the story isn't really progressed until the final few scenes.
ROTS really blew me away. I had very low expectations coming into the movie. Lucas blew me away to deliver his best movie in 25 years.
The empirestrikes back...because I do
true true that guy D has a point it was good
Empire Strikes Back all the way! Boba Fett, people! He's the BEST! My second favourite would be Revenge of the Sith.
I would have to say ESB cuz bossk is in it and hoth rocks, gotta love those at-ats
We have an AT-AT of a scale of 1/3, looks really cool
sweet i love those things.
ROTS was the one that impressed me most
Empire Strikes Back is the coolest one, because there you can see the whole power of the empire!
I voted for Episode III because I thought it was the darkest and coolest. Though, Empire was a close second.
revenge of the sith, Obi-wan is a punk though IMO
What do you mean Obi-wan is a punk?
Just watch vader and obi's battle scene, Obi-wan retreats to the higher ground (it is obvious he stands no chance against vader) and when vader jumps to the higher ground obi decapitates him. Obi is a man without honor IMO, although I would probably do the same thing if I seen some crazy eyed man like vader coming at me that I knew I stood no chance against.
Vaders arrogance was truly his fall though.
