What is your favorite race
That's a tricky question because I don't really like any of the races. Just the outstanding characters in each, who really aren't a great example of their race as a whole.
while i agree with graft that i am more into each individual character than their races, i really really enjoy kender. i have not come across any other races like them in other novels and i find it refreshing. not only that, but i absolutely love Tas!
That's like me too. I love Kender. until the afflicted kender came around. then they were just halflings by another name.
Aren't Kender just little people? What's special about that?Half of Asia is filled with short people...
I'm going with the Elves, just because I love elves and everything elvish, I am a perfectionist, so the smarter of you will know why.
Have you even read dragonlance?
Minotaurs. Kaz is just to awesome to describe, and yeah. i would say humans, cause there are TONS of cool humans, more than any race, but humans are so normal as a whole, in any fantasy world.
Uhh...I kinda just played NWN, isn't it bassed on that?
not sure, but in DL, kender are a small race which are known to be very good thieves.
Right, they look like small humans/elves kind of dudes, in NWN they're called Halflings, there's two sub races which are Stronghearted Halflings and Lightfoot Halflings(I think it's Lightfoot).
kender may be cool, but i have yet to find a decent looking picture of them.
Kender are not halflings. Read this. http://www.kencyclopedia.com/kender/general/
Ahh, yeah they're halflings, thx for the info.
Physically, I agreee with you. But, halflings have very human like minds, whereas kender are deemed insane by our standards.
Actually no, I'm reading here and halfling are exactly like your description, small rogues, they don't actully steal just borrow and stuff like that, and they look like live very small elf/humans.They're halflings.
i'm going to be a netural party, but Nox, it all depends on the series you're looking at.
You are right, there are three world, Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms and then new one...Eratorn?Eliron?Something on E anyway.
halflings conciously steal and hide, where Kender pickpockets without a thought, much like your heart beating. Also, halflings are very much not immune to fear, while a kender will stroll into a dragons lair without a second thought.
exactly, the big difference is that kender do not know the meaning of fear, they only want adventure and that makes them extremely unique in my standards. they are definitely different than just halflings. they are afflicted with the desire to constantly wander and discover new surroundings/adventures. how could you deem them the same as halflings. (i am going by the dragonlance series, since that is what thread this is in)
In standard D&D, most halflings have little desire to actually set out in search of adventure. They really only want to be wealthy and sit at home all day doing nothing. Kender are the exact opposite. They live for adventure, don't care at all for wealth, and hate being cooped up with nothing to do, as Solinari said.
