Which is your favorite character (and why)?

I haven't gotten to far in the series yet (couple chapters into the second book), but my vote goes to Lan or Perrin. I like Perrin's personality and overall character, his attitude to problems. And I like Lan's tough warder image. It will be interesting for me to see how they develop in the upcoming books.

    What bout you?

I love Perrin, he is so sweet. I won't say why, it would probably give spoilers for the books you have not read yet.

Yup. He's a pretty interesting character. Like him alot more than Mat, thats for sure. But I am thinking the Dagger effect on him might of soured me just a bit;)

Perrin. Most certaintly. I would say Mat, but he's kind of a "lady's man" which I don't admire.

After reading "The Great Hunt" I am starting to grow fond of all the Emond Fielder folk. The character development from Rand though I found the most interesting. Didn't enjoy Thom as much as I did in EotW, (I didn't hate him, just I didn't enjoy reading about him as much.) Anyways, pretty good book. On to the third one!

Perrin has always been my favorite, followed closely by Rand. But so far I really like everything about Perrin and always look forward to his parts of the books.

All of the characters are great in their own ways I think.

I like Mat. I dont want to be a spoiler, but some of the stuff he does in the later books is very cool

I'm going to agree with Feanor. I didn't like Matt much at first. Perrin was my favorite through the first 3 or 4 books. But now, into the last few books, Matt's character has really been growing on me.

Yeah, I take back my early statement. Mat definately is an interesting and cool character. I don't mind Elayne either, although she's not very much of a primary character. Theres something about Fayle that I dislike, not sure what. Perhaps I will grow to like her more as I read farther into the series.

I am only nearing the end of the 2nd book so my view is a bit limited. But I think my favorite is Rand. Followed closely by Lan and Perrin. The wolf brother thing is cool, so many possibilities with that.

She is interesting. At first I could not stand her, if I lived in that village and she took to slappin' me I'd kick her in the knee and throw her in the river,

But as the story progresses I have begun to appeciate her temper a bit more.

Got to say that Mat would probably be the person I am most interested in right now. One thing that I have been kinda annoys me is that alot of the time the story stays somewhere I don't want it to, and when it finally gets there, it tends to be really short, lol.

I'd have to say Perrin is my favorite but it's a close race. I really like all of the characters, especially Rand, Davram Bashere, Min Farshaw and Mat (his character really develops after awhile).

As a culture the Aiel are my favorite.

From what I have learned of the Aiel up to this point, they seem very interesting.

They really develop in Shadow Rising. In the first three books one notices that they aren't developed to much.

My favorite culture is probably the Aiel too, alongside the Sea Folk (being next).

The Seanchan are interesting too. Just their diversity I guess.

I agree with Lonearcher. Those are all really cool characters. I also like Thom and some of the other secondary characters like Uno and Juilin. By the way, what do some of you readers who have finished the series (so far) think of Egwene and Elayns characters/storylines in the last few books? Nynaeve and Min would have to be my favourite female characters, but the others....
