    Hi everyone,

I just found this forum which i am finding to be a really good one. I am a fantasy sword and knife maker. I thought i would share some of my work and Id love to hear what all of you think about it. I am a former employee of Albion Armorers and now i do my own stuff full time.

Here are a couple new knives and a broadsword in process.

    regards,

    John

    Nice work!

Say, what's that blade finish on first knife? And that scabbard for second knife... was there any J.S. influence? ;)

Do u have web page of your own? Do you make customs for interested collectors?

    Hi Mika,

The finish on the first blade was done by etching some parts of the blade in acid and not others. The second blade is called chaos it is inspired by the race Chaos from warhammer 40k. Yes I do have a website, and all i do is custom.

    Cheers,

    John

Wow!! So it was you who made that Celtic Cross I found long ago on Albion's webpage! Congratulations, it looks wonderful (u mind if I post it's pic here, for other members to see?).

Do you still make them upon order, or was it one of a kind?

And yes, i totally forgot about acid-etching; in Weta Workshop they did the same with Sauron's armour.

    Hi Mika,

Yes that was me and thank you. :) There was a limited run of those and I am no longer doing any ornamental blacksmithing. My focus is Bladesmithing knives and swords only. If you would like to post a pic of the cross that would be ok.

Here it is... Although I collect blades only, I must admit this artwork is an eye-opener.

He had his web page in his signature, but it seems he had to erase it.

You can check it if you write gagedesigns after "www." and add ".com" in the end.

    Hi am.dk,

Thank you for the compliments. :) I dont really want to post prices here as i cannot advertise on the forum. All that i will say is that my custom swords and knives are not cheap. If you wish to see my website go to my profile and click my homepage.

    Take care,

    John

Wow, These swords are just fantastic. Quick questions if I could. You said that you now make blades on your own? So you have a complete blacksmith setup? And is this your sole occupation? Do you do this full time?

One more question if I could. :)
How did you start to learn the craft?

John is currently making a custom piece for me. This is a guy with some talent folks. He's pretty new to the scene but he's got a lot of ability. The artistic metalwork he did before he got into weapons is pretty impressive. I'd seriously consider talking to him about a commision if you're looking for something, as I think his waiting list may become pretty significant in the future.
