Which ones you liked and didn't like.

I loved all of them, though I was disappointed in a couple. The first one, with the Elven Rope was great, but I expected the box to be the gift from Galadriel. And Theodred's funeral, while it was a great scene, I thought the pacing was a lot better without it.

And I loved all the extra stuff at the end.

Me too!! As a whole, I think they made the movie extremely better. It had a better flow. I agree about Theodred's funeral. Perfect, book wise, but I see why they cut it out of the movie because he wasn't a major character and has no bearing on anything that happens later.

I loved the soup scene, though! :D And especially when they were talking about Aragorn's age. If only we could all look so well at 87.

And the Ent Drafts, and all the extra Merry and Pippen scenes. And the Ents at the end!!

But the best, I think, was the Boromir/Faramir flashback sequence. It made it better because it explained why Faramir acted the way he dud, not making it seem like he was just a bad character, if you known what I mean. I haven't had a chance to watch the appendices yet, but I bet they're great.

I totally agree m'lady, although I loved everything in general.. I especially valued the Boromir flashback and the Ent Draught scene ... PJ has most-definitely enriched the overall flow of the film, bringing it back on par with Fellowship for me.. [imo]
So yeh.. I absolutely adore my copy and the extended cut itself. Not a bone to pick.. for now. heh

The Huorns, elven rope, faramir flashback, explanation of aragorn's age, mention of the Dunedain and Numenor, Pippin and Merry in the storehouse were all my favourites.

Yah I was disappointed that Sam mentioned the rope was a gift from Galadriel when really it wasn't. But I guess that goes to show there really is not Scouring of the Shire where Sam uses the soil he really got.

And the scene with Eowyn singing kind of threw me off. Wasn't expecting that...

Actually, in the movie, Sam did get the rope from Galadriel. But I still would have liked the soil and the seed better. The Ent Draft and the Boromir/Faramir/Denethor flashback are still my faves.

hey where are the scene with Arwen and Elrond, where she says:" You have the gift of foresight; tell me what you have seen". I was really looking forward to that scene!

It could still be in RotK, like in the preview with Arwen walking up to the shards of Narsil.

No one has mentioned the extra orc scenes. I find those the most interesting, you don't get to see much about how the Uruks and maggot orcs interact.

Plus the EE answers that stupid "Invisible Mordor Orcs" thread that was started a long time ago and would not die.

I would have to agree. Now that I've seen the extended version, The Two Towers is up to snuff with the Fellowship, I think. It's all pieced together much better. I always thought it was too fast paced or something, but now it's MUCH better. :D

Well afcourse the Boromir/Faramir flashback which was awesome....but I also liked the conversation between Eowyn and Aragorn because it shows much more depth in the story and it also shows non-tolkien lovers how complex the story really is...actually I love everything concerning men and their Numenorian history..

I liked it when Legolas and Gimli gave their final kill count to each other.

I also like the part where Eowyn was going on about not being allowed to fight and basically told him that she loved him.

I loved all the new and extended scenes, but two scenes I feel should have been in the orginial cut were "Heir of Numenor" and "Farewell to Faramir". The farewell was particularly good and probably would have given audiences a better first impression of Faramir, though he was still a bit too rough with Gollum.

I thought the scene was funny in principle, but Gimli saying "embedded in his nervous system" seemed somewhat anachronistc to me...

I would have to agree with that. It just seemed wrong. Also, there was actually one scene I was glad they left out of the theatrical version. After Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli find Gandalf in Fangorn and they're walking out and talking, and Gimli makes silly comments about the trees and such. I thought it made Gimli appear very stupid. It was taking "comic relief" a little to far.

True, but take a look at the 2000 years that have passed from the prologue to Helm's Deep. If they have little to no weapons or technological developement, they should have at least figured out a few things scientifically.
