It really gets to you, doesn't it?
now wait just a minute there... when the rohirrim charged the uruk-hai from the walls (after Gimli blew helm's horn), there were two elves who went with them down the causeway. One was legolas, but the other was clearly galadhrim, what with the elven sword, long light -blonde hair, etc. Watch this scene in the movie (if the pic is too blurry to see) and see for yourselves.
and as for Shinagani's last reply, as I recall, there were only 300 who defended Helm's Deep.
But why would an elf wear the Rohan cloak and not their own? At least it looks like the cloak Rohan riders would wear (like the rider next to him, carrying Theoden's banner).
Yes, it does, but it is very possibly a Lorien cloak like the ones given to the Fellowship, as they are also an earth-tonish green as well.
Well I firstly thought it was an Elf too. But when I watched TTT a few times, I was sure it's one of the Rohirrim: he wears a Rohirric cloack, a helmet, a banner. All of Rohan. And the Rohirrim have long hairs too.
The cloak surely is a Rohan-one.
To go to Shinagani's last reply:
In the movie there were only 300 men, plus the Elves.
Not everyone charges. When they attack the Uruks, there are a few men on foot. No Elves. We would have seen them in the scene before the door is breached.
Err... dunno To my opinion, there are two options: 1. Gamling has warned the citizens to leave through the mountain way, like Aragorn told him. 2. They suppose that, if they can't stop Saruman's forces, they will die, wether they stay or wether they charge.
Seen it too, definately Rohirrim.
Yes, there were originally three hundred Rohan, but I had heard someone say there was around 800 Elves that came. I thought it was someone on this forum that said it... Plus in the books Eomer brought just enough men to man the wall and I thought there was somewhere around 700-900 men with him so that kinda gives you an idea of the Elf-host's size. The rest of my post was purely speculative...

ok, u guys win... for now (lol), though Im still not convinced that the guy in the still frame I posted is not an elf... I will find out for sure, but until then.....
Allright, my noble adversary, but be warned.
psssssssst..... (whispering) its spelt "alright"... but dont worry, i wont tell anyone about your mistake, ok? LOL
but hey, buddy... this is war, then.
thank you for being as tactical as you are, my friend.
English is not my first language, I am Dutch.( could I be excused? LOL)
that's it then....I'll march against you (do not be overly frightened though, I want you to be able to move so you can properly surrender )
Hold on guys the guy riding to the right of the that flag bearer is no Man, but definately an Elf, while in that pic. he looks like he's wearing the Rohan Cloak, watch the whole scene carefully, he's wearing a darker cloak. Secondly he has a quiver of the Galadhrim for sure and he has a bow on his back. I'm not saying he's a lothlorien elf but he is an elf! (Seriously go study the scene in slow-mo and use the zoom option like I did, he's an Elf)
then bring it on mr. felagund. :hackit:
ps- im the blue and green samurai dude
Of course he is. in case u didnt notice the circle on the picture i attached is around the un-helmed blondie right behind legolas. i see where u guys got confused. so u guys stand corrected... the blondie behind legolas is in fact an elf, though contrary to shinagani's reply, i dont see how the guy could be anything by a galadhrim soldier; i mean, hell... did u guys see any other elves other than the galadhrim led by Haldir come to helm's deep? i dont think so.
so i am, in fact, correct in that your denomination that all the elves sent to helm's deep were in fact not killed, though it is quite possible that he, alone, survived of all of his kinsman.
anyways, this reply has gone on quite long enough. but hey, i love the smell of victory in a debate. i'll check u all later.
and thanks shinagani for setting the record str8!
grrrrr.....I'll let ya know when I have something to come up with.
LORD(!) Felagund, famous singer of destructive songs.
That's definately an elf alright (did I spell it right this time?)
if you look closely you see he even carries an elven(curved) sword.
He does look exactly like Legolas, though. I wonder were he came from. ( I am gonna even the score in this debate, lord crafty spirit of fire)LOL
MR. FELAGUND! UNPOPULAR WRITER OF OLD HOBBIT NURSURY RHYMES!
BLASPHEMER OF THE AINULINDALE
DISGRACE OF THE NOLDOR, TRYING TO MOCK THOSE SINDAR CAVE DWELLERS IN DORIATH
and friend of...of . . . . . . . . dwarves...
and u better watch it... Feanor was pretty bad -- it took the Lord of the Balrogs to take him out... just imagine what i can do... dont knock the name... i am fully aware of the actual translation of the name i chose...
dont make me make a repeat of what ol' glaurung did to u and your kingdom...
just try... dont let me hold u back. stump me on something... go ahead.
u know why?
ITS AN ELF! ITS AN ELF! ITS AN ELF! ITS AN ELF! ITS AN ELF! ITS AN ELF! ITS AN ELF!
ITS A BONAFIDE LORIEN ELF, IN LORIEN ARMOR, A LORIEN CLOAK, WITH A GALADHRIM WARRIOR SWORD, A GALADHRIM BOW, AND A BIG FAT WHITE ELVEN BRED HORSE.
........................ok. im ok now.
and its the guy on the second white horse that u are supposed to be looking at, not the first one. It would take a real retard (just kidding LOL) to not know that the guy on the lead white horse is our boy from mirkwood.
in fact, let me show the pic again. but this time i'll get the circle more on the mark, ok.
under that attachment is a new attachment, with a clearer pic of the scene, that I added at 7:33pm on Thursday, 11/20/03.
well... wait, i might have goofed...
it just occurred to me that, if i remember correctly, legolas rode forth with the eorlingas sportin' a spankin' new rohirrim sword...
hold on, while i research this...
.........and five minutes later
Check this pic link:
Legolas Rides With The Eorlingas
also be sure to check my previous reply, which i've updated with a new, much clearer pic of the 2 elves charging into the deeping coomb along with Theoden's men.
now i might go as far as to argue for the life of another elf survivor, because both riders in the pic are carrying (at the least) lorien quivers, one obviously with an EWS, but neither of their horses have that thing on their head (that scaly looking thing the reins hook on to) like legolas's horse does, so neither one is legolas.
:hackit: anything else, Finney :fuckyou: ?
ps: here is something interesting from the same site as the above mentioned.
Arwen (?) Rides At Dawn
Gimme some answers, plzzz someone. Hell, come on Finney. U the smart one (LOL, im just kidding), why dont u tell me. Is this who i think it is in this probably split second scene, or just some other (heh heh, my devious laugh)elf survivor, or just a hoax altogether?
Don't know if it's true or not, but the Weapons & Armour of Middle Earth book says Haldir brought about 200 Elves with him, making a total of 500 defenders, and that all the Elves died.
