Holywood made a fool out of Gimli as well...unfortunately.
And I can't understand why the general female population likes him. :S
Gimli being a joke character is nothing compared to Orlando Bloom pussifying Legolas. At least our beloved stunty retained his manliness. :S
Well girls think Orlando is SEKSYYYYYYY!
Well I'll have to admit that how guys think might be rather different from the girls. Well at least I think they're more partial towards less manly kind of guys in terms of looks while the male population's reactions can just range from meh to wtf. If not why do you think yaoi is a popular subculture amongst manga fangirls?
I'm fairly sure that dwarves would win underground or in an enclosed space, because it would take away the elves' advantage of agility, plus dwarves pack more muscle into a short little frame. So, underground, dwarves > elves (unless we're talking about drow, who are raised to fight in such conditions.)
However, above ground, elves have the advantage: faster, more agile and better at fighting from a distance. Even though a dwarf's armor and thick skin would most likely prevent an elf from scoring a single killing blow with light weapons, it's hard to keep going when you havd a dozen arrows in your chest and are bleeding from hundred wounds. On the surface, elves > dwarves.
Also, army size, terrain, equipment and leadership play important roles.
I say a draw.
Atleast you voted with the intended subject at hand. Who would in a battle, not who do you like more as most people have done -.-
United Front for Dwarvish Superiority.Vote now!:draught:
5 things that make dwarves cool:
1.Strength and stamina
2.Beard!With various styles for those who like to care for their long, rich, beautiful beard!
3.Axes and warhammers
4.Proficiency and love for blacksmithing crafts and stuff like that.
5.Beer!More beer!The best beer!
I much prefer Elves. So much so that when I play a RPG, Elf is almost always my first character choice, while I have never in my life played a Dwarf.
I like both, but dwarves win. Easily. I love them. I usually play dwarf characters, if it's possible. I played elf in Oblivion, because there was no dwarf option.
They have a much more interesting culture (as it's made out in most fantasy literature and games) than elves.
