where did they go?
a thing I and all my friends have been wondered about :/
yeh there in the book were did they go, they really didn't show much of the corsairs of umbar. so just wait till EE comes out and hopefully they'll be there
yeah, but at least we should have seen their golden armours somewhere in the distance :/
i heard thAt some people saw it but i saw the movie 4 times and i never saw it. But if i see it again (which i probaly will) before it is out of theaters i will look again
Yea.. i've always wondered that.. Easterlings were supposedly the first ones through the gates... but.. instead we see trolls and orcs.. :/ I never see any easterlings.. maybe we will in the EE though.. O.. i heard that..
in the EE Peter jackson plays one of the corsair pirates.. and he and legolas battle.. then legolas kills him. I think you even see a glimce of him in the theatrical version, the big fat pirate walking the deck in that short scene.. i think that's our PJ..
^ Yeah, And we also see him in the TTT in Helm Deep, he's the guy who throws the spear
You can see some easterlings when the Catapults are fired at night (At least in the Weapons and Warfare book screenshot theres a couple standing next to the catapults. Theres also some shots of them marching and fighting alongside orcs.. but these were never in the thearatrical version)
You can also see some when the host of Mordo charges into Gondors shield wall when the gate is breached. Look for their distinctive three pronged helmet.
He also plays the drunk dude eating the carrot in Bree in FotR
As for the Easterlings, I imagine in the EE, we will see them not only in the battle of Minas Tirith, but maybe also in Mordor when the Orcs cross paths with them just before Frodo and Sam escape (a little Rankin-Bass' cartoon RotK retro ne1?)
hmm, I have to see the movie again! :/ but it have stopped running now I think
Yo check out www.theonering.net . Someone seems to have spotted them in a screencap.
here is the actual link where the pictures are shown:
Maybe their screen time was down sized to strenghten the "there will be no dawn for men" part of the story line. Granted the Haradrim are in but they are more important to the story line.
/ just pontificating
That's right you can also catch glimpses of them after The Dead Men come. In the EE you can catch a glimpse of one after Aragorn and Gimli kill Gothmog. But yes I also own a copy of the Weapons and Warfare, and I noticed the same thing with the catapults.
