Sometimes the best ones are the accidental ones. :) The best picture I ever took was from a tippy canoe as my hubby and I were trying to sneak up on a Great Blue Heron on a river. I happened to snap the picture just as it landed on a huge piece of driftwood. Miraculously, it wasn't even a fuzzy picture even though I'm sure the canoe wasn't all that steady.

I was very close to getting a robin on a holly branch, but my camera was still on macro focus, so everything was blurred… It then flew away :(

Taken in the ruined Castle just down the road; three of my friends in their gowns, looking at the North Sea, standing on the cliff top :)

Haha no, they are the famous St Andrews gowns! :D

Just thought I might show you a pick of where I sat waiting for my girlfriend on Valentine's day (with a rose) :)

(I was waiting there because I was joining her in just another lecture ;))

Thanks Emerz! :) We actually had fun just looking at loads of grave stones :) We often go to the cathedral but don't always do that ;)
Haha those are just the two best; it took a while to get the colours right and I was afraid the sun would have changed by the time I got it, as usually happens ;)
As to the camera, nothing special; all but the last one is a Nikon Coolpix P100 and the last one is my iPod Touch :)

    EDIT: so many smilies!

The gravestones are from about 1820 to maybe 1930 or so, can't quite remember; some may be more recent and may be older (in fact there may be some from as late as 1970…), probably just normal people from the town, or at least the richer ones.

Not at all! :D There are some that might be at night but they look quite nice during the day :) It's not catholic anyway, but Scottish protestant ;)

There are a few ghost tours around the town actually, as it's so old and has been such an important religious place (so lots of protestants killing catholics and vice versa, burnings in the streets, the usual), and they often go to the ruined castle for that as well :) Never been on one but I've heard they're good!

This is not this year's Battle of Waterloo reenactment (booked up I'm afraid so I couldn't go), in fact it's not Waterloo but the battle in Wavre between Blücher and Grouchy, where the French won, but too late to help Napoleon over in Waterloo (actually Braine-l'Alleud). Photos are from last year (2014).
