Does anybody else think FFVIII is the best one?

VIII is the best, and i agree with squall, Odin is far harder in VIII than VII

VIII was good, but i wouldn't go as far too say that it was better than any of the others, FFVIII had a great story, and indeed its up their with my fav FFs of all time, but it was also the one that copped the most flak from FF fans around the world.

And Nohmanpimp, im sure you'll understand when your older, lol.

Hey the love story is nothing new and there's nothing to understand about since the love part isn't that important.

All I can say is the amount of romance in the game spoilt the story a bit and that's why VIII was not that good.Great beginning however (programming of characters could have been better)

I thought the characters in FFVIII were really well developed, and i kinda liked how the story was more character driven, rather than plot driven, it was a nice change.

Final Fantasy 8 is kick ass! I love the characters and the semi-dark story line. well not dark but definately illusive.

There was something about Final Fantasy 8 that I really liked, but I can't for the life of me understand what. I guess something about the story hooked me, because I didn't mind playing through it 3 or 4 times trying to get all the GFs before actually beating it. So, I did like it, but there are a lot of things I hate about it.

The characters weren't really all that inspiring and the draw system was bloody terrible. Since you were always using your magic, whatever it was junctioned to would go down as you used up your spells. And then there was of course the GFs. If you didn't have a guide to begin with you'd end up missing several of them without even realizing it.

FF7 was a much better game on many levels, but I did enjoy FF8 despite its flaws.

After FF7 I couldn't help but be disappointed with FF8. It just wasn't the same :( Still, in time I've come to appreciate it more, and it definitely was a great game, just nowhere near as emotional as FF7.

I'm still playing FF10 at the moment, and I'm really enjoying it. So far, (I'm at Macalania Temple) I don't think the story is anything special, but the gameplay itself is probably the best of all the FF games I've played.

I thought VIII was great. Good story (people who bitch about the love aspect need to get laid more), and I thoroughly enjoyed the GF system. Love Squall as the main character, and great graphics that still hold up. The best? No. I'm a sucker for the classics........ FFIV...... can't beat Cecil or Kain.

You are justified to comment on 8 being the best because I also looooooooooooooooove 8, however, you are completely wrong about gunblades being the coolest weapon. Have you never seen Cloud's buster sword? Clearly you have not looked carefully enough

No clearly you have not looked carefully enough. The gunblade in a finesse weapon with great damage potential and looks far better. The Buster sword is a ridiculous lump of metal (ok does look cool) that just looks boring. Also the fact is the Gunblade is superior to the Buster sword, as it more easily handled than the buster sword, as the buster sword is huge and slow compared to the Gunblade, no matter how fast cloud looks like he's handling it.

I agree with "Sora" . Both FFVIII & FFX are great games.
