Do you mean does anyone read any books other than Salvatore in Forgotten Realms? Well, I've read most of his, as well as DnD realms books. Ive read the first Elminster book, making of a mage... but that's about it :p

I've read both of The Moonshea trilogies, The Finder triology, The Moonblade books, The Spellfire triology, The Avatar books, some of the Harper books , along with all of Salvatore's books.

    Yeah Cunningham really is good..
Drizzt as well but i believe Salvatore made just a commercialised book in the end...
The Dark Elf trilogy is the best.

I read book one in the War of the Spider Queen series. i forget the authors name in that one, but the most intriguing character in that book, for me at least, was a fast killed bard in menzoberranzan. just cause he was a bard!! are there any realms books centered around a bardic character?

Danilo Thann (one of my favourite characters) is a bard. He's in the Moonblade series by Elaine Cunningham
