    Hello all,

I am in a tad bit of a quandary here and seeking suggestions/advice if you would be so kind.

I currently have the prequel, book one and book two published of my series. My editor/cover designer/myself all agree that my covers are not ideal and need to be addressed in the nicest of terms. I am debating on the following options and would like your thoughts.

Option 1: Pull those three books, redo them along with all the ones that have not yet been published, prepare them all and start releasing them at the beginning of next year.

Option 2: Leave them where they are, fix them and then change the cover mid-stride for the three out now, then add the others when ready.

Here is my hesitation on Option 2. If I leave the covers as they are, the potential I could turn people away because of said covers and they never return even with new covers is possible. But, if I keep them, I could still get a spattering of sales the remainder of this year.

What would you say? Option 1 or Option 2?

Do you have any pictures of said cover?

Otherwise, if you have even the slightest doubt about option number 2 go straight for number 1.

Here are the three covers. Not ideal for fantasy in my opinion. War in the Lands is closest out of any, but I'm honestly considering changing the title of that book and third book image you see as well.

I can see why you'd want to change them.

Personally, I'd scrap them all and go with something a little more consistent. Maybe some artwork of places inside your fantasy world, rather than 2 photographs. Though, I must say, I'm partial to the old "Completely plain hardback with embossed title on the front" scheme.

I've thought about that to be honest, however, CreateSpace doesn't permit embossed titles on covers (if they do, this wasn't something I knew of).

I had also thought about just using a single color - red/dark red leather looking cover and the image in my avatar for each book. Only change would be the title which would be in gold lettering and use I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, FIN for the serial numbers for each book. Thoughts?

Honestly I love the sound of that. What does the avatar represent?

The crest is representation of the Council of Rohuna. Only those who are bound to the council wear them. It is also the crest worn by those who search for the next High Wizard in book three and gives those who wear it permission to explore any land, any village, and any home. The council decides as the war progresses that their armies will also bear this crest which changes from just being Rohuna's, but also the surrounding lands crest. A crest of hope if you want to put it that way.

I'd definitely have that on the cover, if it were my book.

It would only be the shield, not the fru fru stuff around it. I'm going to have my wife work on it.

I'd love to see a mock-up when you have it!

That makes two of us. If I knew how to do it, I would myself, but that's not quite my thing.

I'm with the Hatter on this one. there's just something about a plain cover with the title on it that I like. granted, if it was a well done piece of artwork from a scene in the book, that's usually a good bet too, but that's just because I love looking at covers and trying to find that image in the book itself.
