David Gemmel is an amazing author. My brother got me into his books, i've read the Rigante series, my favorite book is Midnight Falchon, and my favorite character is Ravenheart.

I'm currently reading the Druss stuff, just finishing up Legend, read the other ones about him, then i'm going to read the Skillgannon stuff.

Try the Waylander books too. He's probably my favorite character.

I just dipped into one of the Rigante books (can't remember which one.. was just tidying the shelf!) and I'm sure one of the characters mentioned Waylander the Slayer...
Now I know Waylander is from the Drenai series... I didn't think they Rigante and Drenai were set in the same 'world'
    Correct me if I'm wrong?

They are in different worlds. I don't recall any mention of Waylander in the Rigante.

I've gathered a few more books over the past month or so. The Last Sword of Power, Echoes of the Great Song, Iron Hands Daughter, The Hawk Eternal, and Knights of Dark Renown. I'll just have to decide which one to start on after I finish A Feast for Crows.

So far I'm enjoying the Hawk Queen books, but I have to be honest, I was a little disapointed with Echoes of the Great Song.

Shame, I loved Echoes! Yeh it was a departure for him from his standard stuff at the time, and initially it didn't sell well - but I loved the setting, the characters and it had Viruk! One of the best Gemmell characters to turn up ever, IMO.

ehh, I guess it just wasn't for me. I'm reading the Swords of Night and Day now. After reading a couple of reviews I was unsure, but I find that I am enjoying it.

I really liked Swords of Night and Day. Ill probably buy it soon - I think Skilgannon is a great character. For Christmas I got White Wolf and Troy: Lord of Silver Bow :D

I also thought Echoes was good, but not one of my favorites.

I think gemmells one of the best fantasy authors.... and I just had to let you know what I just found on ebay. Someone has made a Druss figure which is based on his last battle. You have to go check it out its really good. The auction is under the collectables Fantasy, let us know what you think.

Hey, if you have to have an obsession . . . .

I find that there is always something to read, but I long to go back to the first two books in the Rigante, Legend, In the Realm of the Wolf, etc.

Do any of you have any idea as to when the next Troy book will come out? I've just re-read Lord of the Silver Bow, Dark Moon, the two skillgannon books and read The Lion of Macedon and Dark Prince.

I heard how David Gemmell passed away. It was really a sad moment, for all his fans and his wife. And almost finishing his final novel too...
