as far as i can tell., it does! :D
    lol
IDK if i'll ever finish the belt (b/c of school and other complications) but here's a pic of the actual costume in the movie: http://www.alleycatscratch.com/lotr/Human/Eowyn/Wool/Eowyn_wool_mz_cal.jpg
and here's mine (its the one in the middle): http://65.54.174.250/cgi-bin/getmsg...5f7f001c41b83987c8c75c3f384b32006e7b6b4052500
BTW my friends and i look realy bad in that pic but w/e.
if u need a better pic of it, just tell me and i'll take another (these are older pics anyway)
and....you now what? i think i'm going to try and finish the belt! I'll submit that by the end of the month! just in cast forget to update, i'll submit all that i have :D
OK, now for how i did it....
OK, first off, this was a bit of a rushed costume. we (my mom and i) started abuot a week before i needed to have it done, because my friends and i were dressing up to go see TTT at Red Rocks. looking back, i wish i'd started sooner so that i had more time to do it. i used simplicity 9891 and a mccall's pattern that i don't remember the # for. i combined the two by using the mccalls v-neck and everything else being from the simplicity pattern. we got the material at a bargain (like 5 bucks a yard if i remember correctly) and then we bought all the trimmings and stuff. oddly enough, there's no gold trimmings on thte sleeves ans the bottom of the actual dress, but mine looked like it came from JC Superstar without it. we just glued the trimmings on. i have the cloth for the belt sewn and everything, i just need to go get the gold stuff to make it with.

When you're typing a reply, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Manage Attachments". Use the "browse" button to find the image on your computer, and then hit "upload". It should add your pic in to your post...

My Strider Costume is going to be based on the version of him, not the movie version.

no... not on the old one. My version is going to have pants instead of the really tall boots.

sorry my image is so big and ugly and all...is there any way i could change it?by the way...
i've been thinking about the whole conteset thing, and i think that it could be something involving many more people on the site.
We could have a lot of different categories (most original, most creative, least assisted, most complex, best male, best female, etc.) that people who didn't participate in the contest can vote on. The winners in these seperate categories won't win any prizes, except a pat on the back and some pride in winning something. I think that that'd be fun and it's a chance to recognize more people for all the time and effort they've put into these costumes, but it may be too complex and involved. it's just an idea. :guin:

oh and the person who wins the prize is still picked by elessar (or whoever is judging the contest right now and was judging before this post) , but the maybe the seperate categories can be voted on.

If you don't have a photo editing program on your computer, I could do it for you if you want to email me the pic (your call; if it's a much better pic, it might be worth it, as long as the rules allow for a second pic of the same costume, but I don't see why not). PM me if you want, and I'll PM you my email.

click Ah, finally got my mom to get me in the costume. . .

Here is the reference pic. . .
    click

. . .and here is the costume.
    click

The hair is kind of off and the French Hood is not quite right, but oh well.

I designed the costume myself, modifying Simplicity 8881. I could have sewn it myself, but I did not have time, so my mom did most of the sewing for me. The fabric is actually apholstery fabric, and the girdle is made of christmas tree garland. The tassel is a drapery tassel. The broach I got at a thrift store and added pearls to. The necklace is an antiqued medallion that I got off of a thrift store necklace and strung with the pearls and small gold beads. It was made for an English project.

Edit:you can't see the links very well, they are immediately below the "here is" stuff.
