I just made a post where Yudaril introduces musical magic to Aiimanin, and they make the first drum together. @RayCaptain my post involves Salamanders. There hasn't been much detail on them so I'm not sure if this fits your vision, but I think it's a good direction to take them in. If you think it doesn't work at all I can change my post.
@Kelmourne I made Salamanders to be roughly "wingless dragons". Everything else, variations and quirks, are all details to be played out by everyone else.
I hope everyone has already read my posts on the Titans, Nameless and other monsters, because I already made dragons out of salamanders. If you're looking for dragons, I have them. I also have other various corrupted monsters, which seem more suitable for the whole gladitorial thing than salamanders.
*shrug* Y'all can do whatever, they don't exist within Mogan's realm and I never intended to expand upon them further. But, no, I didn't make them sentient or whatever. They were primal beasts. Not that they can't be or even select ones. Again, not something I care to have a say in.
I think it makes sense if they have a crude and violent sense of intelligence. What I described isn't much of a society, just crafting stone clubs and beating each other up. Even beavers make dams.
I was under the impression that Salamanders were, well, large fire-breathing lizards made partly of fire, and that the whole grasping hands thing along with wings, a gaunt face, spines etc were all crude alterations made by the Blight of the original, perfect form crafted from the divine blood of Mogan.
I don't know, gladiatorial duels with clubs egged on by a crowd just doesn't seem like a Salamander thing. I don't know how you're visualizing it. Do you see them as humanoid somehow? Because I see, more or less, fiery salamanders or komodo dragons. Komodo dragons that can talk, maybe, but not things that stand on two legs and have grasping hands like a monkey.
Alright I'm gonna change my latest post to be more consistent with how everyone else is thinking of Salamanders. edit: re-wrote it, I think it's much more interesting this way
if they're going to be important in the grand scheme of things, which it looks like they will, they should be signed up as something - demigod, god, hero, whatever you think is right, so we can keep track of who they are, who they're aligned with and what they do. If they're lesser gods, put that in too, and what they're gods of.
Just letting everyone know, if I vanish, all my characters become NPCs, for use *as needed*. So if you want to mess with dragons, spiders, dune worms, magic, the Weave of Magic, the Weirdways, the Outer Gates, the Nameless, etc please feel free to do so, but please do so sparingly and try to follow the personalities given.
Yea, given some time, I'm down, just getting really busy at work with holidays right around the corner
