I've thought that it could be a nice idea to have a picture competition. But the rules are that you have to take pictures from the internet, or take them yourself (no creating pictures with programs) and super-impose them, using blend-modes, erasing parts, darkening, desaturating, ...
If you don't have Photoshop you could get the Gimp for free, or there are websites that can help you do this.
    <a href="http://www.gimp.org/">Gimp</a>
    <a href="http://pixlr.com/">Online Editing</a>
I've used the second one before, and it should have everything you need. You don't need to sign up or anything.

We could then start a thread with a Poll, where we can vote for our favourite artwork.

Here's mine (currently my desktop background), made up of four pictures. The grunge around the top-left was done with a grunge brush, but can be done with pictures.

    Thanks!

The pics above all started as pencil sketches in Photoshop... and that's when the fun begins.

    Yep.

Then I used Photoshop as a painting program.
My drawing skills have always outstripped my talent as a painter so when Photoshop and other apps came along I was quick to learn them inside out. Some of the work you see was done with Photoshop 2... back when the program had no support for layers... on a computer with 40mb ram. Seems like a hundred years ago when computers ran at 80mhz, and 40mbs ram raised eyebrows.

Wow! That great work seems even greater now that you give me the specs. I'm alright st sketching, but once it gets to colors I'm awful, and I'm not very good at shading. But that is great.
