You know, i really cant be bothered even reading it, lol. How sad is that ? I used to love WoT so much ! Maybe I should do a re-read of the series to get me back into it.

OK, here's a dumb question. I'm looking for something to read and I may be an idiot but could someone tell me a little something about this series?

    um,....its good?

crikey, its 12 books long (including the prequel) kinda hard to sumarise.

its a good old fantasy epic with good writing and such, im sure everyone else can eplain it much better than that but hey, I gave it a shot.

First of all, it's huge. The existing main series books (11 so far with another to come) average between 700 and 900 pages in paperback, one or two break the thousand. It's a classic fantasy tale of a group of young innocents setting out on a life of adventure by accident and others design. They must grow and adapt to survive and, with the help and hinderance of mentors, guides, enemies and powerful forces both for and against, come, unwittingly, to have an enormous impact on the world.

Good vs Evil with the fate of the world in the balance, ringed and enmeshed with some of the most complex plotting and intrigue in literature today.

I think that pretty much sums it up.

    Oh, it's also addictive...

Lol, wanna hear something funny? Today, I went to a bookshop and saw KoD, so I took it, settled myself in a cosy corner and started staring at it. I mean, can't blame me can you, if I were to start reading the book I probably wouldn't understand much having read only a few books. I couldn't buy it because it cost S$25 and I didn't have any money with me at that time. I mean, I wanted the book so much, and yet it'd be a waste reading it so early...

So I stared and stared and stared at the book. And stared. (couldn't resist reading the blurb though hehehe) :D

I know this isn't the apropriate place to put this, but, hey, guess I'll post since people seem to get hyped up about KoD :D

Oh yeah, can't really read through all 28 pages, so just a question : How many books did RJ say he was writing for WoT? (sorry if this has been asked before) How mnay more after KoD?

Just one more to go, with two more prequels somewhere in the future.

Excellent that does help a lot! Thank you it sounds amazing 11 or 12 books wow. I think I'll have to put that on my Christmas list :). I'm already addicted to the George R. R. Martin ASoIaF series and I love Tolkien this seems like the next step. Also if I may ask another question (or 2) are the series numbered? Or are they to be read in a certain sequence?
Thanks again for all your help!

well when you go out to the book shop, most of them have big numbers onn the spine so you dont get confused, it helps a lot with so many titles. (except for new spring the prequel, which has no numbers)

also, for the paperbacks theyre colour coded, i think it goes yellow, green, orange, purple, red.....etc.

but the big numbers are enough, just ask and im sure we can most th elist in order.

and i think its best to say they should be read in numerical sequence, as in 1-11, unlike other fantasy series this is one straight story in installments, f you muck up the order youre likely to miss a lot and get confused very quickly.

i dont think it matters when you read the prequel, but its best you get to grips with some of the characters first.

as for me, i heard people talking about it so i asked for it for my birthday (July before last), and ive been hooked ever since, IT WONT LET ME GO!
