    Name: Taryn
    Age: 23
    Height: 4’11”
Appearance: Frail appearance, birdlike frame. Thin face, pale skin and haunted eyes, long, straight, nearly white blond hair down to her waist, giving her an almost colorless appearance. Pretty in her own way, but she would not believe it. A long horizontal scar runs on one side of her neck. Usually wears loose, comfortable dresses.

Weapons: 2 small throwing knives concealed in the sleeves of her dress, only for defense, not combat. Moderately skilled with bow and arrow.

History: Taryn is from Tar Valon. When she was 22, she discovered her talent when a thief tried to rob her walking home. He attempted cut her throat. Struggling to hold the knife back, she inadvertently drew on his energy and killed him. He fell to the ground, and she tried to heal him, but he was already dead. She still has a scar on her neck from this incident, but she hasn’t told many people about it. A few weeks later, she traveled to the Tower so they could possibly find out what this power was. When the Tower spilt, she went to Salidar, seeing the fallacy of following Elaida.

Personality: Shy, reserved, and as a result does not warm up to many people immediately. Seems rather unfriendly at first. Very self-sacrificial, sometimes to her detriment.

Nature of her talent: She can heal with her touch, but to heal people that are near death, it puts her near death. She can also steal someone's energy to heal herself or to hurt them, but she has not done that since confronting the man in the alley. The healing drains her, accounting for her appearance and frailty.

Good idea. This'll help the new people.

    Name: Koriandre Tayler Sedai
Age: :nono: 'tisnt proper to ask an Aes Sedai her age
    Occupation: Aes Sedai, Green Ajah

Appearance: Tall, golden haired & green eyed. Kori has the Aiel-like coloring some Andorians possess. Like most in the green Ajah, her low cut silks gowns are in shades of green or heavily embellished with green to declare her ajah. While traveling, she frequently dispenses with the fancy divided riding dresses and wears mens clothing in order to travel easier.

Bio: Born in Andoran farming community just outside of Camlyn, Kori spent most of her life expecting to live just as her mother did, married to a farmer with 10 children. Fortunately being the second youngest of such a large brood of children gave her all the free time she wanted to get into mischief without being noticed too frequently. When she was 15, Kori inadvertently taught herself to channel. Initially she restricted channeling to playing pranks on others such as lighting candles they were standing near, making chairs move and causing their drinks to splash up. Two years later as her skills improved, she and her best friend, Sarai, thought it would be fun to visit neighboring communities pretending to be Aes Sedai. Koriandre had occasionally thought of leaving her home to journey to the White Tower but hadn't gotten up the nerve to do so yet. Unfortunately for the pair, they were discovered as false Aes Sedai by a true Aes Sedai; sent to the White Tower to be disciplined by the Ajah they impersonated and made novices.

Koriandre's skills quickly grew when she was formally trained. Her friend could not learn to channel no matter how hard she tried and was sent home in less than half a year. Although frequently punished for disobeying rules and general mischief; Koriandre advanced quickly, being a novice only four and a half years and an Accepted four. Upon passing her test for Aes Sedai, Kori joined the Ajah she had impersonated, the Green. Like all Green's she hoped the final battle would be in her lifetime and she enjoyed the freedom to roam the countryside the Green Ajah offered.

Only 4 months after passing her test, Koriandre left the tower with another Green in order to find one of her warders who ran away. During this journey she met a man she bonded as her Warder. He has loyally protected her for the last 18 months, even during the Tower split, when Koriandre left the tower to go to Salidar.

Skills: A moderately powerful channeler, less than 10% of her Ajah stands above her in strength. Koriandre likes that women who have been Aes Sedai for a hundred years defer to her. She is still not at her full strength and practices frequently to work on her skills in the One Power. Kori has some talent in healing, but nothing extrodinary. She has an odd talent in being able to make images appear in the air, but the talent seems useful for very little.

    Name: Kelaine Makela Aes Sedai
    Race: Human
    Nationality: Saldaean
    Ajah: Yellow
Age: Not telling, but has worn the shawl for at least 40 years.
Characteristics: Of average height, with long slightly curly black hair and the dark, characteristicly tilted Saldean eyes. Also (obviously) the ageless Aes Sedai face. She is slender and graceful, also fairly even tempered. Though a Yellow, she is very bookish, in fact she almost chose the Brown. However, she chose the Yellow instead. She is one of the more powerful women in the tower and, though it is known only to her Ajah, she is very high on the Yellow totem pole
History: Kelaine grew up on a fairly prosperous farm near the Saldean blightborder. She was the oldest of a large family, and was therefore expected to take on the farm when her parents died. Because of this, she was very well educated, and learned to read, write, and do mathematics at a vwery young age. As she grew older, she had more responsibilities, and one year she and her oldest brother, who was a year younger, were put in charge of taking some of the harvest into town to sell. Because they seldom left the farm, they took their siblings with them. While they were gone, there was a trolloc raid on the farm, and both of their parents were taken. Kelaine and her brother took on the responsibility of running the farm and raising their brothers and sisters, but the children were difficlut to keep track of. Kelaine often found herself wishing she had a way that she could know exactly where the children were without having to search for them. Suddenly, one day exactly this happened. A short time later, Kelaine suffered a brief and mysterious illness that neither she nor her brother could explain. From that time, she could make something happen so that anywhere the children were, she could easily find them. This went on for a few months when one day an Aes Sedai came to the farm, searching for a woman she said she had felt channeling from the town. This was, of course, Kelaine, and so she left her brother, who had now reached the age of majority, in charge, and went off to Tar Valon. Though she soon discovered that she was very strong in the power, she could only channel when she wished to find something that was outside her line of sight. The Aes Sedai broke this block by taking something of hers and hidhng it with the power. Since this was most often done in a classroom with others channelingh as well, Kelaine just thought that she was missing something, and so she channeled well. After a time, those assigned to break her block revealed to her that what she sought to find was not missing or even truely hidden, but rather behind a veil of Saidar that she could plainly see. After this, Kelaine could channel at any time and she rose quickly to the shawl. After choosing the Yellow, she bonded a Warder, who was later killed by whitecloaks. Shortly before the breaking of the tower, she was entrusted with six angreal and sa'angreal that had been in the possession of the Yellows for a long time. It was suspected that , like all items of that type, though they allowed the women draw on more power than they could otherwise, they allowed some elements to be drawn on even more than others. Kelaine was supposed to study them. In the confusion of the breaking, however, it was forgotten that she had them, and they were thought lost. Kelaine traveled to Salidar, and began studying a woman they had found who could heal without channeling.

    Name: Haeruc
Race: Aiel (Haeruc is Shae'en M'taal ( a Stone Dog) of the Jaern Rift Sept of the Codarra Aiel)

Appearance: Haeruc is about 6'4" tall and looms over most men, he appears lean but is quite muscly, this is spread out due to his height. He has blondish hair with a tint of red cut short except for a tial at the nape of his neck, and bright blue eyes like glowing sapphires. His face is tanned from a life in the Aiel waste and has one thick scar across his left cheekbone, and two thin ones next to his chin on the other side. He only wears the Cadin'sor, the clothing of Aiel Warriors consisting of coat and breeches in browns and greys and knee high soft boots to blend in perfectly with brush or rocks, while designed to hide him in the Aiel Waste it is just as adequate at hiding in the wetlands aswell. Around his head he usually wears a shoufa although not when at rest, and during battle he covers his face with a black viel like every aiel warrior. He carries three short spears and a small buckler in one hand. On his back he has a cased horn bow with a bristling quiver at his side. On his belt he has a few pouches and a waterskin and also a heavy bladed knife.

History: Raised in Red Springs Hold by his parents, Haeruc grew up like all Aiel men, trained from early youth to fight with weapons and without, taught the intricacy of ji'e'toh and lived his life as most men. His father was a Tanner unlike most men but that did not deter Haeruc. He has two first-brothers, one of whom is younger and wishes to be a Warrior, his older brother is in training to be a blacksmith and is much envied. He also has one first-sister who is Far Dareis Mai and two years older than him.
At the age of twenty, Haeruc left to aid in the search for 'He who comes with the dawn', in an effort to prove himself for his youth. After many battles with trollocs and some friends killed the party came across a large grounp of borderlanders, perhaps more than a three dozen. After a short skirmish and many soldiers dead, the Aiel party was fighting a losing battle, six young Aiel against at least twenty heavy cavalry, many of the Aiel had been wounded and it was decided that a retreat to better gorund was advisable. As the only Shae'en M'taal it was Haeruc's duty, to be the rear guard as the Aiel that remained fled. What followed changed his life forever. While fighting two borderlanders at once Haeruc did somthing he would regret forever, to this day he has not spoken of it to anyone.
The other Aiel got to safety and managed to ambush the rest of the cavalrymen and force them to retreat, but by then Haeruc had run away as fast as he could, the shame of what he did was so great, he saw killing himself as too quick, cuch a death would not fulfill half his toh And the shame was so great he would not let himself return to the Threefold land untill he had regained his ji. So he left his life behind and crossed the Dragonwall into the wetlands, to find some way of Relieving his shame beforre he can return. And so he now runs desperately into lands he does not know, half in anger, half in shame of what he has done.

Attributes: As with all Algai'd'siswai, Haeruc is a dealy fighter, with his weapons or without he can dance the spears as good as almost every Aiel. Almost all of his attributes are those of the Aiel, he will not ride a horse but will run as fast and as long as one. He will not touch a sword in life or death. He has a fear and astonishment at large bodies of water and so forth. When not dancing the spear, he is mostly solemn and stoic, the event which lead him to the wetlands haunts his mind, and only when fully distracted is his personality open.

    Wheel of Time Character:

    Name: Maera

Nationality: Aiel Wise One, from the Taardad Aiel of the Nine Valleys sept, and a former Maiden of the Spear

Appearance: Maera is 5'11, and slender. She has violet-blue eyes, fair skin, and waist length curly red hair. There is a long, thin scar down the length of her arm from her shoulder to her elbow. She wears the typical Wise one garb, but has two knives strapped to her legs. Though this is not typical, she keeps them to remind herself of her former time with the Maidens, and likes the comfort they give of knowing they are there if she would ever need them.

History: Maera was raised in Cold Rocks Hold, and is Amys' sister-daughter. She became a maiden at a young age, and was later found to have the spark, and a natural ability to heal and to dreamwalk. She has been a Wise One for 5 years. Her strong curiosity led her to question Ewgene about the Aes Sedai, and they quickly became friends. Against strong protests, Maera decided to follow Egwene to Salidar, to find Kelaine Sadai and have her teach the Aes Sedai way of healing.

    Name: Ahsdale Nolatari
    Age: 27
    Race: Human
Weapon: Heron Mark Blade and the longbow

Description: Ahsdale is a medium sized male, around 5'8 with long, jet black hair that streaks across his face to just above his chin. His face seems rugged from the constant living outdoors and he seems to permanently have a few days growth on his face. He wears dark clothing and a dark cloak, preferring to outmanouver his foes rather then rely on armour. On his left side hangs his slightly curved heron-mark blade, found in the aftermath of a run in with the Black Ajah where he had to kill one of the Black's Warders. On his right side hangs a quiver of arrows and on his back is his longbow.

History: Raised on a small town near Kandor, in the Blight-border, Ahsdale was taught the art of the sword, the longbow, and hunting. When he was just 13 years old his town was overrun by Trolloc's and Fade's. Seeing these nightmares come to life was enough to unnerve him at such a young age and in the aftermath of the onslaught he fled. Constantly living in the wild, he has taken up with many groups of adventurers and has had his fair share of trouble.
Ahsdale was present at the events at Falme and was, for awhile, a prisoner of the Seanchan, he did however escape, and saw a vision in the sky of a tall man, with reddish hair fighting another; a dark man with flames in place of his eye sockets and mouth, and this vision has tortured his sleep for months. Desiring to end his torment, he has begun a journey to Tar Valon to seek the aid of the Aes Sedai...

Lately, Ahsdale has received a "gift" from a man calling himself Ba'alzamon. It seems that he can see a dark smudge on the forehead of a person if they have pledged their soul to the Dark One.

    Name: Laria Castier
    Age: 20-ish
    Nationality: Andoran

Appearance: Laria is best described as simply plain. She has long brown hair pulled back into a loose bun to keep it out of her way, and wears dresses of the high-necked Andoran style, usually in shades of green, her favorite color.
Personality: Laria is somewhat of a loner. She lived among her books and manuscripts in the vast libraries of Caemlyn. She is generally uncomfortable around other people, especially those she does not know well. She has also been known to speak her mind in a rather matter-of-fact way when someone says something false. She simply loves the truth and cannot stand it when someone if falsely informed.

Backround: Laria is the eldest of the two daughters of House Castier, a minor noble house of Caemlyn. House Castier was recently dismissed from the capital by the order of Gaebril (a.k.a Rahvin) along with all the other houses who were known to support Morgase. However, shortly after their departure to their country estate, Lord Rolnic Castier, Laria's father, died quite unexpectedly. It is unclear whether or not there was foul play involved. The entire family was devastated. Laria retreated to her books, but Laria's strong-willed younger sister, Arylin, took it hardest of all. She had always hated the life of a noble, and overwhelmed with grief, she ran away. The news almost killed Laria's mother, Lady Olenia. Believing that is was partly her fault that Arylin ran off, Laria set off to find her knowing that she had the best chance of tracing her, despite her lack of travel experience and her fears.

Eventually, Laria traced Arylin to Illian, where she was preparing to take the oath as a Hunter of the Horn. Arylin refused to return, and Laria felt she had little choice but to take the Oath as well and follow. However, annoyed by Laria's presence, Arylin sneaked off with some other Hunters in the middle of the night. Laria believes they are headed toward the mountains in the west, and so she is off again, trying to find Arylin.

In many lands there are tales of a man, a spirit or a creature in the hills. Seldom seen, even more seldom encountered but almost never sought out. All the legends agree on one point, he, or it, has some connection or power over the animals of the range. Most people fear the 'One on the Range' and he is used to frighten children to behave, in some places more often than the Dragon or the Forsaken. Strangely, the few who do not fear him are among those who have seen him, or one of his creatures. Indeed, the creatures are seen more often than he, many a time a child lost in the hills has been led back to the village, and thier frantic parents, by a large black hound who disappears as soon as another human is encountered. There are darker tales too, of campsites found deserted, black stains on the soil and drag marks leading into the trees. Travellers have reported uneasy feelings of being watched. Perhaps unsuprisingly brigandage is very uncommon in these regions and the local people are very law-abiding. More than one person has disappeared from their home in the dark of night, leaving no trace except occasionally, evidence of a hurried flight. Even more unsettling, the loved ones of those who have disappeared have sometimes been seen leaving a gift for the Woodsman, as they call him. They almost always appear to live happier lives afterward.

Only one person has willingly spoken of him, a young boy who afterward was severely reprimanded (unusual in that they tried to make it secret) by some senior members of the Women's Circle. Even more strange, he had recanted almost everything before they got hold of him. He had been lured into the forest by his uncle, who appeared to have an unwholesome interest in the boy. The boy finally understood his intentions and bolted. The man appears to have flown into a rage and pursued the boy with a knife. The lad hid behind the roots of a large tree and thought he was safe. Until he sneezed. His uncle rounded the tree and siezed him by the hair, raising the dagger in his other hand. The boy is uncerain about what followed. He recalls hearing the voices of the village men, who had set out to search when he had been found missing. He remembers the look of pure hatred on his uncle's face. He recalls the warm liquid that sprayed on his face as his uncle fell backward. He had an impression of a large shaggy ...thing... that moved past him and tugged something from his uncle's face. He remembers warm breath on both sides of his face from something, no, two things behind his shoulders. He lay motionless as the ...thing... moved back behind him, dragging the corpse behind him. Still he lay frozen until he heard from behind him, "Go to them, say nothing but what you must". The soft, deep voice scared him more than anything that had happened so far. He forced himself to his feet and darted toward the voices. He told them his tale and led them to the spot but by the time they returned to the village he had changed his story, saying that a bear had taken his uncle.

    ***************

Recently a book by an anonymous author has surfaced. It is written as a diary and may indeed be one. One entry includes a description of a strange man who rescued her from a pack of wolves.

".... he was huge. Not quite the height of a tall Aiel but very broad and muscular. On first sight he resembled nothing more than a bear. I saw him in reasonable light only for a moment but I realised this effect was caused by the huge bearskin he wore, covering the pack on his back, and by the gauntlets on his hands that resembled claws. He was accompanied by a real bear, whom he called Seiera, and two large, dark hounds, called Los and Baijan. They seemed to act independantly, although he occasionally gave commands or signals to them. He carried many weapons but used none against the wolves. They appeared from behind me and walked past, forming a line between me and them. They just stared them down until they turned and left. He seemed to let out a breath and put away whatever he had concealed in his hands after they left though...."

Indeed stories of this type are so widespread that if he were indeed one real man he would have had to have travelled the length and breadth of the Lands. In Cairhein he is known as The Spirit in the Hills, in Ghealdan The Mountain Man. In parts of Andor they say Tai'vron, in others simply The Watcher. To the Ogier he is Hamadin, the Tuatha'an Cuebiyar'd'mael. In Tear they have The Wandering Storm, and in Mayene Shae'encar. Along the Borderlands there are old tales of salvation from ambush, unexpected noises that waken sleeping guards in the nick of time and allies that appear from nowhere and disappear at battle's end.

I updated this since I last posted it.

    Linaer Avynne (Lihn-AY-ar Ah-VIHN-neh)

    Ajah: Green

Age: As with many Aes Sedai, her exact age is unknown, but she is estimated to be around fifty.

    Height: 5’10
    Hair: Black
    Eyes: Green
    Skin: dark

Clothing: She owns several traveling outfits, for she is scarcely in the Tower for any length of time. She dresses in black, and her wardrobe for any given day generally consists of a hooded cloak, a long, loose-fitting tunic secured with a wide belt, and leggings. Of course, she owns court dresses for formal appearances, and although they vary is style, they are always black, with an occasional highlighting of red or silver for purposes of décor.

Accessories: Although she is Aes Sedai, she grew up with a blade in her hand, from which she refuses to part. She wears, discreetly, throwing daggers, positioned around her body for easy reach. She once owned both sword and bow, but, albeit reluctantly, parted with them upon the insistence of her peers, warders, and other critics. She is well muscled, more so than the average woman, and never gave up her physical training during her years in and out of the Tower. She believes in strength, and for what she lacks in strength in the Power, she tries to make up in physical abilities.

Being among the lower ranks of Aes Sedai, she has fewer responsibilities, and takes advantage of this when she can. She prefers to travel among the countries along the Spine and the Blight, helping, where she can, to inspire those yet able to fight against the Shadow. She has heard the rumours of the Dragon Reborn, and even whisperings of the Forsaken.
At times, she had trouble convincing people that she is, contrary to her appearance, an Aes Sedai. She has a short fuse, and does not hide her feelings as well as an Aes Sedai should.

History, in brief: Her history is little-known, but what is known about the former Arafelan is dark. She never knew her mother, and her father, a former soldier, was killed in a raid by Myrddraal and Trollocs. Had she not been sent away when she was ten, she would have become a soldier herself. Her father, before his death (when she was eight), has raised her with a dagger in hand. When he died, a retired soldier took her in and continued her training in arms. Even though she was very young, she was quite adept with most weapons.
Linaer became an Accepted after her first five years of training, and was finally given the shawl after an additional 20 years (her ‘uncouth’ ways took long to quell, but she eventually learned to hide them). Somewhat antisocial, she prefers to live on the move and travel unknown regions. She has killed some shadowspawn (much to her warders’ disgruntlement), though, obviously, not with the Power. She continues her hunt, both in influencing others and physically hunting down the shadowspawn.

After the Tower split, Linaer decided she would best benefit if she remained neutral, and continued her wanderings. She avoids other Aes Sedai, fearing that they will command her one way or another.

    Warders:

    Mansur (Man-soor):

    Age: 32
    Hair: Black
    Eyes: blue
    Height: 6’2
    Skin: Dark
A scarred Shienaran, this veteran has twice the experience of any average 30-year-old. Like most borderlanders, he has fought against trollocs and myrddraal from his early years. He was on the verge of despair when Linaer found him, and had lost his zeal for life. She recruited him for several reason; chiefly, because one who fears no bodily harm makes the most formidable opponent, and because she felt drawn to him. He has been Linaer’s warder for eleven years.

    Rydan (Rye-dan):

    Age: 25
    Hair: Blonde
    Eyes: Hazel
    Height: 6’
    Skin: Medium, tanned
Rydan was born in Maradon, and is much like Mansur. However, where Mansur is dark, Rydan is full of life, and has a bright personality. He is a little arrogant about his skills, but his boasts are only slightly untrue, for he is an accomplished swordsman. Linaer recruited him when he was 21.

    Name: Raheryin Mendaric
    Nationality: Arafel
    Gender: Male
    Age: Young Twenties
    Weapon: Throwing Knives and Quarterstaff

    Background:

Raheryin Mendaric grew up in Arafel and was the son of a merchant. In his childhood, he spent a good deal of time travelling south with his father and his younger brother, Ihjeria. From these travels he developed a love for the many adventures the world could provide. When he turned 16, Raheryin and Ihjeria left home against their parent's wishes and journeyed to Cairhien, where they lived for two years serving in a minor noble's estate. During this time, Raheryin became very involved in the Game of Houses, and soon became exceptionally skilled at plotting schemes. However, one of his plots to help one of the minor houses failed, and Raheryin and Ihjeria were forced to suddenly flee Cairhien during the night. Ihjeria was set on becoming a Hunter of the Horn, but Raheryin did not see any interest in this. The two split paths, and Raheryin headed south to Tear while his younger brother journeyed to Illian. Raheryin spent another 3 years in Tear playing the Game of Houses, this time in the service of a more significant noble. However when the Dragon Reborn claimed Callandor he soon became disinterested in Tear. Raheryin began his travels once again, travelling with no consistant location, yet never feeling the need to return to the Borderlands.

    Description:

Raheryin is rather tall in stature, and has the Arafellin traits of pale skin and dark eyes. He still wears the traditional bells in his hair to show his previous nationality, and is not ashamed of his past. It is common to see him wearing a fur lined cloak and boots during winter, but he mostly prefers to wear more elaborate clothes that show his above commoner stature. He does wear some jewelery other than the bells in his hair, however there is one ring he owns that he paid an exceptional price for and as such deeply cherishes. Several Aes Sedai have shown interest in this ring of his, and have offered him large amounts of coin to buy it, however Raheryin does not plan on selling it.

    Personality:

Raheryin is always willing to help conceive a plot or scheme and become mingled in other peoples conflict, but expects a reward from it. Because of this, most of the common people despise him. Although he is moderately trained in the Quarterstaff, his real danger lies in his ability to put others in situations that are highly unfavourable either way. He is usually quiet, and will always speak his words carefully by nature. Raheryin is not interested in finding a wife, however he doesn't mind the art of charming women.

    Name: Steivan Findoran
    Race: Saldaen
    Gender: Male
    Age: 25
Status: Warder to Koriandre Tayler Sedai
Weapon: Spear (Looks like a Japanese Naginata - see pic here: http://www.knifecenter.com/knifecen...ges/1020gtj.jpg)

Appearance: Steivan is a man of some height standing at 6' 1" which is very uncommon as Saldaen's are generally not very tall people. His skin is bordering that of a lightish brown, he has black hair (not common) but tilted green eyes and high cheekbones, as is common of most Saldaeans. His clothing is that of fairly close, yet not tight fit, which blend with his warder's cloak.

Bio: As is common with a lot of men that live in the Borderlands, Steivan is trained fairly well with a sword, and has seen and even faced a few trollocs. Yet most of his life, Steivan has lived in Tarabon, as his parents where fairly successful merchants. After he was old enough to live and support himself, he left for his homeland, where he joined the Saldaen army. During his time in the army, he came across and Aes Sedai of the name Koriandre Tayler. After a rather rough encounter with her, in which he found himself facing a horde of trollocs and was aided by her, in which they saved each other from close encounters, she soon bonded him, after he became intruiged by her light attitude compared to his rigid soldier lifestyle, and has stayed loyal to her, even after the breaking of the White Tower.

Before meeting Kori, Steivan had been involved in a raid against Trollocs and several important Darkfriends. After the raid, he came across a Spear like weapon with small carvings on it. The blade was neither dull, and sharp as could be imagined, although it was coaxed heavy with blood. Taking the weapon as a reminder, he grew to using this weapon as his preffered weapon. He is not quite sure about the weapon, for when he was asked to attack an Aes Sedai to show stell is no match for the one power, he was surprised to find that the one power had no affect on him. He has heard a rumour that there is a man with a fox-head medallion that is similar to his spear, yet he is still unfamiliar to his weapon, though his Aes Sedai has told him that it may be a Ter' Angreal.

Skills: Quite competant with short swords and long swords, but is exceptionally skilled with his spear, for spear and him are like one weapon. Through his warder trianing he has gained much skill in tracking, and in scouting. At times Steivan has found himself having skills or rather 'things' that he fears he should't have; there have been times when he was inadvertantly found himself holding a cup he wanted when it was halfway across a table, or that trollocs burn suddenly, even though his Aes Sedai has not directed her fury at them, and lately he wonders about this...

Name: Birthname of Ashariel Damodred, but now goes by the name of Tarath Elarin
    Nationality: Cairheinin
    Gender: Female
    Age: Nineteen
    Height: 4’ 11”
Weapons: Knives, bow, and two short swords

Ashariel is cool, calm, and collected. Courageous yet intelligent, she knows when to fight back and when to back off. She can be as imperturbable and canny as Aes Sedai, whom she despises. In fact, Aes Sedai are one of the few things that can crack her calm exterior. Her family, the Damodreds, are another, and in an effort to break free of their influence, she uses foul language learned from the arms master. And while she claims to hate Daes Dae’mar, it is ingrained in her blood and she plays it without realizing it.

Her serenity often encourages others to confide in her; they feel that nothing will shock the assassin, who makes no secret of what she is. But her practical and pragmatic outlook on life also conceals a deep and abiding determination to oppose all Darkfriends, as well as an impractical desire to protect children.

Ashariel Damodred is a minor member of the Damodred family. Her past is shadowed and mysterious, even among her own family; no one knows whether her widowed mother is telling the truth or not about Ashariel’s father. As a result, Ashariel was generally treated as a bastard. Only the arms master gave her any measure of kindness, and Ashariel managed to convince him to train her in knives, short swords, and the bow. She begged him to train her out of boredom, and both were surprised when she showed an aptitude for weapons, especially for knives. It led to a close bond between the two of them, and he became Ashariel’s once and only friend. Everyone else, even her mother, considered her an embarrassment and therefore distanced themselves from her.

Resentful at this unfair treatment, Ashariel began retreating to the mountains north of Cairhien at the age of fourteen, after convincing the arms master to come with her. The other Damodreds found this very congenial; they would no longer have to see the not-quite-bastard haunting the halls of the palace. They even created a small lodge for her to reside in, thus removing any possibility of her return. This fueled Ashariel’s resentment even more, and she refused to visit the palace unless she had to restock supplies for the lodge. Two years later, she began seeing images and smelling scents that she shouldn’t have, hearing things that no human could ever possibly hear, sharing experiences of things that wild wolves did—not humans. Frightened of the possibility of becoming an Aes Sedai and dragged off to the White Tower against her will, she tried to ignore the voices, and managed to block them out for several months. They returned on her seventeenth birthday with a vengeance when she attended an unavoidable banquet at the palace. According to witnesses, she began screaming and cursing for the voices to leave her head. Most of the Damodreds began whispering of the Power and the White Tower. The other began to think about arranging a marriage for her. For Ashariel, both were unacceptable fates, and she took steps to prevent them both.

She fled the palace a week later with the help of the arms master, carrying only gold, clothes, weapons, and a new identity—Tarath Elarin. She headed towards the south, traveling first in Tear, then Illian, and then a brief stop in Andor before ending up in the southwest. When her money began running out shortly after she left Cairhien, she hired herself out as an assassin, continually avoiding all Cairhienen and Aes Sedai. For the next two years, Tarath Elarin became a sought-after assassin in Tear and Illian. With the help of cosmetics and drugs, the elegant Damodred became disreputable, scarred Tarath Elarin. Yet somehow, both Aes Sedai and Damodreds discovered her whereabouts, and both began to track her down.

She fled once more to the southwest, shedding her disguise, although she kept the name of Tarath Elarin. Occasionally taking jobs when she needed the coin, she continued to roam about in the southwest despite the events shaking the world asunder. Yet the voices remained with her, even though she fought long and hard against them, fearing that she was going mad. She still refused to train in the Tower, and spends much of her time looking over one shoulder, waiting for Damodreds, Aes Sedai, or voices to pounce on her and carry her away. Needless to say, she is unwilling to passively acquiesce to any of these fates.

Ashariel/Tarath is very petite and slight. Although she is physically fragile, one can see her strength and calm serenity in her eyes. She is dark-haired and blue-eyed, another reason why many think her a bastard, although her eyes are dark blue. One odd thing about her eyes is that they seem to change color in different shades of blue, another reason why the Damodreds believe that she should be sent to the Tower. Her eyes have not yet turned golden.

Elegant and beautiful, Ashariel manages to intimidate most people by her very bearing, seemingly looming although she is tiny. She gives the impression of royalty and the expectation to be obeyed. Yet she still invites others to confide in her by her serenity. Tarath Elarin, on the other hand, has many “scars” from fights, and a shifty manner to her that convinces most people to stay away from her save for the truly desperate.

This could prove to be quite interesting.

Name: Jaihad Martus (JAY-had MAH-tus)- better known as Old or Wandering Crow
    Age: 93
    Height: 6’
Quiet, secretative, atentative, perceptive, possesing great deal of deductive skills, and enough logic to put a white sister to a shame.

Born of Kandori father, and Malkieri mother, he spent most of his life in company of his grandfather - his mother’s father, thus the hadorna(sp?) on his head. He carries very little of either of his parents, or his grandfather in himself, looking, instead mostly like his mother’s mother. His face is at all times clean-shaved, his nose is straight, and with only a few wrinkles, he seams no more than sixty. The only thing that shows his years is his completely greyed hair. His most prominent feature is his eyes- like two small pieces of sky reflecting on the smooth lake surface, during the clear summer eve.
Although old by normal standards, it is noticeable that he remained in nearly perfect condition; except for his right leg that is stiff because of an arrow he received right in his knee during a bandit ambush during one of his travels. During one of those, he came into a possession of a long black coat, and small, equally black, hard, horned hat, that, whit it’s sharp point resembled a bird’s beak. Half of his nickname originated from those garments.
Scholar by nature, he spent most of his life traversing most of the world visiting libraries, and private book collections. He settled for a few years in small Altaran village of Rahmor hill, near the border with Murandy, where he accidentally stumbled across some kind of chest that held curious a substantial amount of books on old tongue. All of the books were somewhat obscure, and one of the first he managed to translate held precise, step-by-step plans how to create and use a weapon that latter gave him the other half of his nickname: ‘Crow’s leg’ a metal half-staff, with thin, razor sharp blades that remain expertly hidden in the ends of staff, until a pressure is applied in the exact places around the middle of it. It also held many other curious mechanic diagrams, which he never managed to fully comprehend. In the ‘chest’ he also found a tube that held a message in an insanely obscure old-tongue script. After a full year of fruitless attempts to decipher it, he hid the chest, and set off to find someone who could. Still, he avoided dealing with Aes Sedai, since he was not sure that they could, or would aid him at all.
Although deciphering the message is his main goal, he spent more time as a mercenary than as a scholar. During the Aiel war, he served in multiple companies, and used his time there to study the Aiel as well. Strangely, Aiel have never had any problem talking with him, so he managed to learn more about their customs and tradition than probably any other ‘wetlander’ before him.
After that, he also had the opportunity of meeting, and getting to know Logain Ablar, before the later decided to proclaim himself dragon.
During one of the recruitings done by Asha’man, he joined, more out of curiosity than any other reason, and it was founded that he could learn how to channel. When he became one of Asha’man, he refused to exchange his usual long coat for the one that Asha’man wore, but since his coat was already black, it was overlooked. A fast learner that he was, he earned his dragon rather quickly; not long after Dumai's wells. When Logain emerged in the Black tower, he sided with him practically immediately, and the two of them came quickly to an agreement that allowed him to venture out of the black tower to continue his quest for knowledge, but he had to open his eyes for the youth with potential to channel. Or at least that was what the few that had to know about his absence had heard.
