Jaime Lannister is one of the books most intriguing characters, undergoing several changes (both pyhsically and emotionally) throughout the books. I know, for me, I despised The Kingslayer throughout AGOT but by the end of ASOS he was one of my favourite characters. Do people believe he was trated fairly by being given the title of Kingslayer ? Now while its a very cool title, it is used in a derogative term. Was it right for him to murder Aerys II Targaryen ? Personally, I believe someone had to do it, and Jaime was the right man for the job. However, his position in the Kingsguard cannot be disregarded, he broke a sacred oath to protect his King. Should Robert have allowed him to serve in the Kingsguard, did he even have a choice ? Discuss.
