Question: Would you have picked any other actors to play the LotR roles?

I was quite satisfied with all their picks. Though I would have loved for James Earl Jones to do the voice of Treebeard, but JRD did a good job.

All the choices were good, obviously, but I don't think I would have picked David Whenam for Faramir. Something about him just isn't right. I couldn't say who I would have picked instead, though.

By the way, has anyone seen a picture of the guy they originally picked to play Aragorn? I don't remember his name, but it was awful. He was completely wrong. I'm SO glad they changed their minds about him. *hugh sigh of relief*

    Stuart Townsend is his name.
I feel bad for him thinking he had the part for a while, then a week or two into shooting he was cut. He didn't fit though.

I couldn't have been more satisfied. :D Tho, I only read the book aftr having seen the Fellowship. Which was funny and sad, because I could only imagine the characters as those in the movie. But then again, I hadn't seen The Two Towers prior to having read the book. So I did have some pre-conception of the characters there. Howevr I don't think you evr get the full picture in your mind of how they look, and if you do, it often looks nothing like they should do. You get the most out the wrds they speak and how they speak. You get a sense of their persona. Which has been exceptionally portrayed in PJ's Trilogy imo.

Yeah, I read the book before the movies and I never had a very clear conception of how they looked. I sort of did, but their faces were usually fuzzy in my mind. In the movie, though, they all looked about how I pictured them, except Legolas. Never pictured him that way. He's good, but when I read the book now, he still looks different in my mind.

I think Faramir was good. He looks like Boromir.

Yeah, I was shocked the first time I saw a pic of David Wenham as Faramir. I was like "it really IS Boromir's brother!!!"

Yah, I was happy they made Faramir and Boromir look a lot alike. I haven't seen the picture of the guy who originally had the part. I'll have to look it up. I thought PJ did a really good job with the..er..*cough* male *cough* cast. They are all cute. Haha..well, most anyways. haha, but that isn't important! They all did a really great job bringing the books to life. I was amazed and happy once I first saw FOTR.

I think it's important to read the books BEFORE the movies. That way, you let your imagination take control. I was surprised at how close the picture of The Shire was in my head and on screen. With the hobbits, that was great too. The accents, the clothing. They had everything down right to the last crevase. The detail, just, EVERYTHING!It was all wonderul. I'd like to go and give the whole cast, especially PJ a great big hug. lol.

I like Hugo for Lord Elrond. He was noble presence around him that just vibrates control and supremecy of his kingdom- much the way a king/lord SHOULD look. However, he also seemed very in-touch with his, umm, "sensative" side I guess you could say.

Also....Aragorn looks pretty good for, what? 87 years old? :D

I thought Eowyn was perfect. Miranda Otto was great. (By the was, has anyone seen her in the PBS mini-series "The Way We Live Now"? It's hilarious because she has dark hair and a Texas accent.)
