Alright people, what are your honest thoughts on books 9 and 10? I wanted to tear my hair(what little I have left) out after 9. Book 10 mollified me a little. I still think the story is moving a little too slowly for book 12 to be the final in the story arc.

It has gotten really slow since Jordan spent a whole book with Rand just making the mountains shake and rumble. I can't remember which one that was at the moment. But I had to force myself to continue reading. Since then they have varied in how much they progressed the story but none of them is as good as the first 3. IMHO I think maybe Jordan isn't sure how to wrap up all the loose ends.

Or he is, but he just can't bring himself to condense things enough. He claims that he was just bringing things into lines for the final push, I'll go with that until I see the next book.

Agreed Unraveller. Although I did throw book 9 against the wall when I was done with it, I am patiently waiting for the next one. I might even re-read book 10 to "get in the zone".

    So they say.

Anyway, i didnt like CoT, but I did enjoy WH. It was a solid book, with a big surprise ending, and a good battle to finish it off. Plus, The Forsaken and Slayer were in it lots, and that always counts for something in my books. :D

Honestly, I don't think either of them are as bad as a lot of people seem to think they are. I agree with EMT about book 9. How can you not love the ending? My only beef is that the whole Faile/Perrin storyline was getting a bit dragged out. Book 10 was slower than the other ones, and admittedly I didn't read it nearly as fast as the other ones ( I read books 4, 5, and 6 in 5 days each) but it was nice for all the plotlines to start coming back together.

I think they're probably the weakest of the series, along with 8.

Ah well i'd have to say that i quite enjoyed them, i mean yeah it got a bit tedious at times but overall i dont see the huge problem that everyone seemed to have with it. I mean im re-reading the series again for the millionth time and it's still as enjoyable as when i first read it. I can't say that i really want it to end totally but at the same time i would like to know how Jordan's going to wrap it all up.
Um yeah but back to books 9 & 10, i really enjoyed them and im eagerly awaiting Knife of Dreams.

It would have been cool if one of those plots created in CoT were actually done in CoT and finished in CoT. Hopefully KoD will have more than a few months in the plot.
