Are there any Black Metal fans in here?
If so who do you like?
Are you a supporter of the originals and their low tech approach, or does the "new wave" of symphonic orchestrations appeal to you more?

I listen to a bit of it. I love "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse" alot. I used to listen to alot of Borknagar and I don't mind Arcturus. Enslaved also has some amazing songs like Havenless.

I listen to Abigor, Summoning, Dark Funeral, pretty much anything at all. There are times when I want to hear necro sounds like early Abigor and times when I want to listen to something more symphonic like Summoning or Dimmu Borgir. It mostly depends on how much I've drunk - the more beer, the more necro I get.:draught:

I loved the sounds of Arcturus, a pity they disbanded.
Enslaved have always been at the forefront of the scene with their progression. Check out the song "The Voices" from the album "Monumension" one of my favourites from them.

Amazing bands they create a brilliant atmosphere with their compositions.

I quite like the song "Jupiterian Vibe".

I will look at your band when I get a chance. I noticed the names are all Robert Jordan themed. Is the music/lyrics based on his work as well?

Thank you my new friends for you contributions! and Hail Metal!

Darken: Shayol Ghul is very WoT based but not all of the songs are based on it lyrically. You can listen to that one on Myspace.

Horn of Valere has one song lyrically WoT based but mainly I just loved the name and the other session guys in the band liked it too so we went with it. That band doesnt have myspace but if you search online on on DC++ or something I'm sure you can find music. I can send you some if you like...

I find Lord Wind kind of boring but Graveland is fantastic. So is Capricornus.

Some of the Lord Wind work (like Atlantean Monument) is beautifully haunting. The forgotten Songs album is a bit of a let down though.
Capricornus is a brilliant band, definitely one of my favourites from that nsbm scene. It is a pity he wont be releasing any music again.

Yes....they are brilliant! I have all of their albums.
In a similar style, have a listen to Walknut and Hate Forest.
    Well worth it.
There is some great metal coming out of Eastern Europe lately.

Never heard 'em. I've cut back on my cd expenditure in the last few years, as it was getting out of hand, so now I only occassionally buy a new record. I've heard good things about Astrophaes, though. I may investigate further sometime.:)

    Huge fan of Black Metal.

I enjoy both sides but prefer the low quality. My favorite is Burzum.

Enslaved, Bathory, Gorgoroth, Carpathian Forest, Immortal...and many more

But I listen to almost anything. I have a wide spectrum in the musical world :D

    My favorite Immortal album.

The song "Perfect Vision of the Rising Northlands" is still amazing after the 100th time listening to it lol.
