I believe it`s Lord of The rings trilogy, it has realy good music, nice to ears :D It`s on my sleep playlist, and it reminds you of the epic saga.

Star Wars had some pretty good beats, but noting fancy, tho I enjoy Darth Vader march. :D

As far as movies go, I'd agree with you and go LotR, but the soundtrack for Halo beats it IMO.

The music from Ocarina of Time will always have a special place in my heart. More recently though the soundtracks from Halo and Oblivion are my favorites, depending on my mood.

Gonna second Dreamscaper on Ocarina of Time. That soundtrack was one of the things that really opened up my understanding in terms of what game music could actually do. Emotional!

As for other games, I also love the soundtrack for the recent Xenoblade Chronicles. I got a real sense of grandeur and freedom from listening to that as I was playing. And the Metroid Trilogy had a haunting soundtrack that immersed you in Samus's lonely explorations of alien worlds.

As for movies, my favourite would have to be the soundtrack that Mark Knopfler composed for The Princess Bride. So emotional and interesting, and full of life even!

I forgot to mention the original Age of Wonders. It was a fantasy strategy game that was almost like a fantasy total war game but with a much more simple battle mode. The soundtrack was excellently composed.

The Lord of the Rings soundtrack is beautiful, I always listen to it while I study or for a walk in the forest...
What do you think of Game of Thrones soundtrack? It has a lot of epic and beautiful stuff. Especially the Rains of Castamere if you know what i'm talking about.

Narnia has good soundtrack too... Harry Potter as well.

But I think Lotr beats them all:)
Hans Zimmer music! James Horner, Alexandre Desplat, Harry Gregson Williams, John Williams...

Funny thing about the Game of Thrones music, in my opinion: the opening theme (featuring the series' main motif) feels very underwhelming despite its rich composition, yet all of the music within the actual episodes - especially the cues that incorporate the main motif - are far more amazing (to me, anyway) than the opening theme cue itself.

On another note, some soundtracks that I include among my favorites (that I can come back to from time to time for inspiration) are:
    - Escaflowne the Movie (Yoko Kanno & Hajime Mizoguchi)
    - Chrono Crusade (Hikari Nanase)
    - Lady in the Water (James Newton Howard)
    - Gedo Senki: Tales from Earthsea (Joe Hisaishi)
    - Skyworld (Two Steps from Hell)

    -Memories of a Geisha: Confluence
    -Schindler's list: Main theme?

I personally like the soundtrack from the Metro games. it definitely helps create an eerie feel for me.

my favorite movie soundtrack, as mentioned by others above, is LotR.

    other soundtracks I like include:
Skyrim (and honestly anything by Jeremy Soule)
I personally love the James Bond theme song
I think the Dark Souls games have a good soundtrack
and there are others that are good, but not noteworthy.
